- Would like to know how to report retailers that are pricing beanies sky high
- It is rediculus that people are following the truck to get princesses and other rare beanies. It doesnt let the real collectors have a chance to collect unless that want to spend ten times the amount for the same item.
- They are really cute. Prices vary from dealer to dealer far too much.
It acn only grow in popularity, at least for awhile. sg

- I LOVE BEANIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
- I have had a wonderful time hunting these babies! Even my husband and children have joined in. It's not unusual for my husband to make a "Beanie run". It is frustrating however, when the one's you are missing are priced way out of your range.
-
I think ty should have a tighter check on those who are over charging along with putting the prices for princess and erin way to high
- I admit it, my daughter got me good and hooked on Beanies. I dont like the fact that the TY company is so tight lipped about informationand the way it treats its retailers. Many a shop owner has complained to me that the reason they are charging so much for any given item is that they simply can't get enough of what they order. If I was a retailer I wouldn't want to have this type of comunication problem with one of my suppliers. There is an old saying "What oges around comes around".
-
- I am dying with AIDS. Some friends started sending me BBs in the place of cards. It caught on, and now I have a nice tidy little collection. On the days I can't get out of bed, I look up at my Beanie Shelves and talk to my "family" -- it provides me with hours and hours of comfort and sometimes makes me almost forget about the pain. I have stated in my Will that my Beanie Babies are to be donated to the Children's AIDS ward at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix when I die......with one exception...
..Jolly is to be placed in my shirt pocket with his head sticking out. I want him with me in the next life.

- I hope ty makes more beanie BEARS...lots of them, so they are not so scarce. Some little kids really want to own a beanie bear and they are so high priced and so very hard to find.
-
- I am a 5 year old girl. I dont like how hard it is to find beanies in the local stores. I am looking for Magic the dragon for me and my Mom.
Robin
- I don't like the fakes
- I enjoy new ones being offered. Wish stores could be surer of what orders they are getting and when. Dislike some stores selling at higher prices than usual and some of these stores must be getting theirs from illegal sources since they are not authorized Ty dealers. I like the idea that super stores such as Wal-Mart and Toys R Us are not allowed to set up accounts. Smaller stores should be the ones to receive accounts with TY. Enjoy the web site.
- I have been unable to get a Princess or Erin bear. There is no way
I can afford the high prices on these. The cheapest I have found
were at $100.00.
-
-
- The stores i get beanies from, charge way much for common ones. Retired ones- i can understand. But $8.00 when they are supposed to be $5.00 is REALLY getting to me. But, they gotta make a profit somehow. BUT STILL.... Thanks for your time.
i love beanies
from one of the thousands of beanie lovers
- Why can't I find Zip?
-
-
The thing that upsets me with the retail stores is the fact that they don't put them all out for the public to buy. I have been told by several other people that they are selling the Princess and Erin Bears out the back door so they can get more money for them, which of course makes the price go up and then we can't afford them. I had to pay 100.00 for a Princess bear and still do not have Erin because I refuse to keep paying that price and more. Of course, my daughter who is only 10 doesn't understand
hy we can pay it once but we can't now. I can't afford to keep paying 100.00 for a beanie baby.
- the beanie freaks who grab up all the beanies and then hoard them or resell them take the fun out those of us who just want the collection set for ourselves
- Erin and Princess are impossible to find. The ones in retail stores we have seen are asking $300.00.
- I have just started collecting the Beanie Baby's. It's very exciting and fun to see the increase in value these little guys will bring.
-
-
-
-
- Stores are very unfair. Chances of getting the likes of Erin or Princess other than secondary market are very slim. Nordstrom is great!
-
- I feel like very irritated that we could not get MAPLE or BRITANNIA.
They should release here in U.S market as well.
- I just wish it wasn't so hard to get some of the current ones like Peace and Erin
- I DO LIKE THE INVESTMENT POTENTIAL, HOWEVER, I DO NOT FEEL SECONDARY
MERCHANTS SHOULD CHARGE SO MUCH FOR EASY TO FIND CURRENTS. NOT FAIR!
- You guys rock!!!
- I dislike the high prices. I wish that at least some of them could stay at $5.00. I still like beanie babies, though!
- If Ty was really so upset about the secondary market they would quit retiering them so much. They should also check the stores to whom they sell to, to actually see if they are selling at the correct price. It also should be limited to retailers like toys r us which would sell at a set price. That would limit the secondary market idiots and leave it to collectors to trade as they will.,
-
-
-
- Would like to see more of Erin so the children can get them. Too few at too high a price for little kids.
-
- Although some secondary resellers set fairly honest prices, I think far too many are hoarding hard-to-find Beanies 'til they're retired, then jacking the price way up (Radar is an excellent example in my area-never found him until after he retired, then flocks suddenly appeared for usually well over $75). Retailers should strictly limit purchases to one of each type, and refuse to sell to anyone they recognise is buying up for resale; this way, everyone gets a fair chance to buy Beanies while they're $
.99.
As for ideas, how about releasing a new alligator, one that actually looks like a real alligator instead of a...well, I can't really think what Alley looks like, except that if he didn't have green w/ that patterned fabric, he definitely would not have been considered an alligator. 'Gators have raised eye ridges, and ridges down their backs, and their nostrils are also slightly raised. Check out Lumpy's Gang's 'gator beanie for a very well-done example.
- I LOVE collecting Beanies, but I am disappointed in how the secondary market drives the prices up so sky high that honest collectors who do it because they like the critters, not because they are trying to make a buck then can't afford a lot of the ones they are looking for. But I guess that is the way most collectables are. Your website is great--keep up the GREAT work!!!
-
Beanies are fun to collect. My children love them. They "buy" me some free time--while the kids play.

- I THINK THAT McDONALDS SHOULD HAVE MORE TBB'S ON HAND!!!!!!!1
- No comment
- I love beanie babies so much my son will never trade the ones he has singles of only.
-
-
- I just like beanie's. I'm not in it for the money, so I think ot's really unfair that some are so highly priced my parents couldn't afford them. And it's not fair secondary marketers price them as high as thy possibly can.
- iI believe it is a disgrace that little children for whom they are intended can not afford to buy them - someday my grandchildren and great grand children should have mine- I am taking good care of them!!!!!!!!
i
- I think that retailers that hike their prices should be banned from selling beanies because children can't afford to buy them afer all these were supposed to be children's toys. I really like the colorful bears. Ty needs to make a dark blue teddy.
- The secondary market is getting out of control! There is one store I
occassionally visit and the owner was trying to sell Princess and Erin for Over $500! They are still on her shelves and she won't come down on the price. All the retired ones she has are for $200 or more.
The most I have spent at this store is $50 for Peace the Bear.
-
-
I love them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
- Ijust want to say that I love Beanie Babies!
-
- I would like to know when the new releases are coming out.
- I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO PURCHASE PRINCESS OR ERIN DUE
TO THE GREEDY DEALERS. I WILL MAIL YOU LIST OF THOSE
I AM AWARE OF. (PRINCESS $150. & ERIN $175) THIS SHOULD
NOT BE ALLOWED.
-
- I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO PURCHASE PRINCESS OR ERIN DUE
TO THE GREEDY DEALERS. I WILL MAIL YOU LIST OF THOSE
I AM AWARE OF. (PRINCESS $150. & ERIN $175) THIS SHOULD
NOT BE ALLOWED.
- I think it is very wrong and unfair to sell current Beanie Babies like Princess and Erin for $200-$500. They should be sold for $5.00 like Mr. Warner intended. Now I can't get them even if I saw them because they cost so much.
- I love Beanies Babies because I am a beanie and I am a baby.
-
-
-
- The one I am mainly looking for is Erin. I will pay $30 or less! Help if possible. I would like one in mint condition!
- I think that the adults who got involved in this for the value have blown the whole thing out of proportion. They must have a sick mind to (and I've seen it happen) to hand wrestle a child for one. In my town there was a princess drawing and there were some greedy grown ups who put in more than 10 tickets.
-
- I enjoy buying the beanie babies as a hobby. I wish more people would do that , rather than try to make money off collectors. I hope we can locate the beanies more freely in Canada. I would like to get some Mc Donald's beanies next, if we can find any.
-
-
- I buy beanie babies to trade for my #1 hobby - Barbie Dolls. Many barbie collectors are now into beanies, so I can get better deals by trading beanies to these other collectors than if I just paid in cash.
Also I do enjoy talking to other beanie collectors waiting on lines, etc.
- this is *really* addicting!!!! and I really dislike the "gouging" by the stores, particularly the popular current ones on back walls at twice or three times the price.

-
-
-
-
- I don't like how people are so rude over getting them. They think it is the end of the world if they can't be first in line. I won't put my children in that kind of situation. If we have to stand in a line with people pushing and shoving we won't get a beanie baby. Also we will not pay the enormous prices that some ask for the beanies like Princess and Erin, they are new out and some people are asking $150. for them I'll just wait or not get it for my child.
-
- I hope people don't ruin a good thing.
- I'm 81,just started collecting last month, have never paid more than 6 dollars for a beanie baby, i have every one (even Britania and the dark blue elephant), And i just want to say keep looking and i believe that you can find every one for the normal price (i'm living proof), and ROCK ON BEANIE COLLECTORS!!!!!
-
well hallmark card stores in my area never sell the bears
for 5.99 like ty says
- I think the much-rumored Peach(es) will come out like htis. OK
THink back to the October Retirement , two months pass, a special bear comes out, then the january retirement about 2 months pass a special bear comes out. May 1st retirement , about 2 months later I think Peach{es} will come out. Just my 2 cents.
-
- I'm over 81 yrs old I have not paid more than 6 dollars for a beanie babie, and i just began collecting 1 month ago!!! i even have Britania!!! ROCK ON BEANIE COLLECTORS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I really like Beanie babies and think that they should be world-wide monuments for the styles of the 90's
- I love beanies and if you are willing to sell them for $10.00 or less I am interested.I like retirements.I dislike people who sell them for $1,000,000,000,000,000 when there only worth $10.00. As I said , I love beanies.
from Emily G
- I THINK, AFTER 2 YEARS OF PRODUCTION,TY SHOULD ALWAYS RETIRE THAT BB.
- People that complain about the high secondary market prices shouldn't buy from the secondary market...my ENTIRE set was purchased at retail prices, and those retailers that sell the beanies for more than a reasonable 5-7 dollars should have their liscenses taken away by TY, and people should stop buying from them...
- People at the Ty company tell you to sell them around $5 but it's their fault they cost more because they don't make enough, and they retire them.
- I really enjoy collecting beanies!! I am collecting them to decorate a nursery for when I get pregnant. I don't like the way some retailers treat the "older" collectors. It shouldn't matter how old, how young, how many kids, etc..,.as long as you enjoy them!!! Right?
- I don't think the people that sell the beanie babies should get to keep as many as they want of what ever for them selves and their family.
-
i want more
-
-
-
-
I think that beanie babies should not be retired, and should be plentiful no matter what design they are.

-
I DISLIKE HOW PEOPLE ARE SO GREEDY. TY SHOULD MAKE A
NEW MOUSE.
- i think all beanie babies accept for humphey, chilly ect. shouldn't be going for such high prices
-
I'm hooked! I started buying for my three boys. Now I have taken over the collecting and just love it! I have three of many since I bought one for each boy. Now I am working on acquiring the Retired Older Beanies. I am spending alot of money, but feel the investment will pay off in the future.
- Our area still has retailers gouging people on princess and erin when they
receive them.
-
-
people should sell cheeper beanies
-
-
- BEANIE BABIES ROCK
-
-
- I enjoy collecting BBs. I didn't think I would get caught up in the trend but they grow on you. They are sooo cute, and generally affordable.
- Would like to see a collie dog, siamese cat and palomino horse because I have these animals.
- That some retailers try to sell the babies at an extremely HIGH price and that the secondary market makes it so hard for the average person to get one they want!!!
- we love all the babies!!wish it were easier for the kids to get some of the harder to get babies to add to their collection.Tuffy to retire
- B.B.S ARE COOL
-
I like the way the birds body parts move about.I like their dark shiny eyes.
-
-
- I think that the beanie baby phenomenon was one of the greatest money racets of all time.
-
- that when a new release is done not enough are avaliable for all to buy. and the people who take more then one and dont think about those who only one for them selves.
-
- I just LOVE Beanies, and since I just started, I am hoping to get A LOT MORE!
- I think they should not really make bugs because they are ugly most of the time they should make more bears but this time sell them for 5.00 in sted once they getout the are selling for 200.00 and then other people and i cant buy them because they are selling for that much.
- i think they should lower sales prices in stores so children can afford them
- Retail outlets should not be allowed to have these soo
called "consignment" beanies. It is hard enough to find
beanies, and I don't mind buying on the secondary marker,
but not from a retailer.
- Collecting BB's is fun, and my 8-year old says she wants to collect them until she graduates, at which time she plans to sell her collection for college funds. Since they are appreciating faster than her mutual fund, I am helping her as much as I can.
-
-
I think they are going to try to retire all the Mamas and Babies (old and new) Because they are coming out with 12 new Teenie Beenies May 22. I also think they will try to retire all of the cats and a couple of bears.
- I really like Beanies, but I don't likfe when they retire one about a month after it was introduced. (1997 Teddy)
-
- I think a person should be able to get all current beanies for under
20 dollars. Someone is making an extreme markup off hard-to-finds!
- please bring out more new beanie BEARS.............thanks
-
- I think the beanie phenomonon is great, but retailers put the prices on beanies up way, to high. They're supposed to be for kids. How many kids do you know can afford a Princess the bear at $200.00?
-
-
- I hope Ty comes out with more fish. They are my favorite. Several retailers in my area (St. Paul, MN) have received many damaged and wet boxes of beanies and they are not very happy. They said Ty will not take any merchandise back. Some of the beanies received lately have been made very poorly also, ripped seams, bunched up seams, less beans, crooked faces, etc. The retailers are not happy about this at all. I questioned the authenticity at one store, and the manager showed me bills of lading, sh
wed me the boxes, etc. $8,000.00 worth of junk that Ty would not take back. I don't feel this is good business practice for Ty.
-
- Ty's website should be more informative & up-to-date.
- I wish that the prices for bears (Erin and Princess) were not so high and that the retailers selling them at this cost would come down
- I feel the Beanie rage has gotten out of hand. These cute little animals were started out as an inexpensive toy for children to collect. They made great rewards, birthday gifts, holiday gifts and allowance gifts for children that were not too expensive. Now the secondary market has made these next to an impossibility for the children who had been collecting them. This is a sad lesson for our children to learn. They have been given the opportunity to purchase an inexpensive toy that is not violent,
but the type of toy all children, boy or girl, can enjoy. Now the greed of the secondary market has made this an impossibility for these children. They cannot stand outside of stores at early hours of the morning to purchase the whole shipment at the stores. I think this is a sad situation to be presenting to our children. GREED is not something my children need to learn.
-
-
I love collecting beanies because they are cute not because of value
- I LOVE BEANIES!!!!!!!!
- I love Beanies. No matter that most people think(including my spouse) that to collect them is silly, stupid,
rediculous, a waste of time and money, whatever, I'm hooked and they
are adorable.
-
I like beanies. They're cute and a good investment.
- More new releases NOW!
- I think people should sell all current or new releases for $5-$6.
-
-
-
-
-
I absolutely LOVE beanie babies! I have 98 of them, and can't stop collecting!!!! There's nothing bad about them! I think it's dumb how everyone's jealous, and is trying to sue ty for everything, though!!!!
-
- Iwish that Ty would stop making errors to keep beanies alive.
-
-
-
- I am collecting these for when my children get older and are ever in a tight situation, they can sell off the beanies as they need money, not for me and no for now to sell or trade.
- I enjoy the Teenie Beenies, but do not look forward to eating another 60 Happy Meals. I don't really want to pay more than $7. I am thinking about selling all of my duplicates retired & new because I am tired of the "hassle" and stores like Rainforest Cafe charging $75 (like they did for Princess & Erin).
- I, like half of the world, have gone nuts over Beanie Babies. I love them and enjoy collecting them. I regret not knowing about them sooner. It is costing me a great deal more than the average collector. I want them all!
-
- I love Beanie Babies more than my children!
I think I've taken this collecting thing way too far.
- nice work!!!!
- I am really enjoying the trend of collecting beanies. I am getting frustrated with the retailers that are getting cranky of the phone calls and people checking on a daily basis. They have had to know what they were getting into when they "signed on" but alas that doesn't seem to be the case. I have encountered a couple of retailers that are invoking some suspect conditions in which to buy the highly treasured ones. Recently a store had a number of Erins but would only sell to you if you bought 20 o
hers (at the same time). I mentioned it to one retailer that I frequent and who is having a good time with the beanie craze. She said that that offended her and she would feel as if she were being blackmailed. Another store in town had "leaked" the story that they were going to release a shipment the next day Saturday oddly enough, and that bears were included. Hours before the store opened the line began to form. When my girlfriend was in line more than 1 hour before the store opened she did not get
o even see any bears. But when someone was fancied by the salesclerks they would "go see what is in back" and oddly enough it was 2 Peaces. Obviously both sold in an instant. Strangely enough to her sister and her sisters friend that had only heard of Beanies a few hours before.
-
- i think erins should be easier to find.
-
-
I hate that the beanie dealers in my area are very tight on there princess bears by holdingthem and going to flea markets and reselling them for higher price when they arent even retired yet. I have 3 kids been hunting for a princess and entered many drawings and still cant get one unless i pay out the butt for it.
- I heard that retailers have to buy other TY items if they want beanie babies. It is harder to find retailers that have them. I also think that it is not ok for retailers to sell them at any price. This has started out to be for kids. They are great gifts for kids because they are so cute and so cheap! Which comes in handy when kids play with toys till no end. Which I must say that beanies hold up pretty well. I started to collect them for my future child that me & my husband may have in a couple
f years. I was afraid they would'nt be around anymore. They would be so cute for a babies room on a shelf. Now it's a hobby for me & my husband.
-
-
-
-
- I'm having fun collecting Beanies.
- I think TY should pair up with McDonald's again and make Teenie Beanie Babies of the most popular beanies as of right now.
- I'm having fun collecting Beanies.
-
-
-
I think that more Erin and Princess Bears should be put out for us who can not pay $100 to $300 that places charge.
-
I hope the person responsible for creating Beanies got a huge raise! They're all adorable!
-
I think that more Erin and Princess Bears should be put out for us who can not pay $100 to $300 that places charge.
- My family enjoys beanies I even got my mom in on the hunt. I wish the
secondary market could be controlled.
-
-
- It upsets me to see people buying them for a normal price and then selling them for a secondary price. I was in a Hallmark shop[ a few weeks ago at Oakland Mall in Troy, Michigan - they sold a young man over a $1,000.00 of Beanies - he left with 6 large shopping bags!!!!
Some people have a hard time finding them as it is and then to have someone like him come along and take them all...
-
- Beanie babies are adorable! Can they make more wrinkly ones. For example mastiffs. and other ones.
-
-
- I don't like the elevated prices of some stores. I just don't buy them. I don't track them enough to make predictions. I think they are cute and buy them for our grandchildren and ourselves.
- I wish that Ty would come a little more creative in their new releases, as in the intire line. I recently purchased the Mothers Day Bear, to find out that it was just Romeo with a lace collar on. There was not much thought put in to it. Needless to say, I was not very happy. Please, Mr. Warner put a little more interest in your new releases, so we can all be excited to see them and want to buy them.
- I would like to get more up to date data from Ty rather than off the street. Such as the sale of McDonald's sales on the beanies again in the Happy Meal. I also wish dealers would not hord or sale out the back door.
-
- I would like to get more up to date data from Ty rather than off the street. Such as the sale of McDonald's sales on the beanies again in the Happy Meal. I also wish dealers would not hord or sale out the back door.
- They are absolutely the hottest thing since sliced bread. The only thing that bothers me is the vast array of different tags that can be found on these critters. With so much talk of counterfeits how can the average collector keep up when so many errors are being made by Ty itself?
-
- I DON'T THINK IT'S FAIR FOR RETAILERS TO NOT PUT OUT WHAT THEY GET IN, IF THEY ARE SELLING "OUT THE BACK DOOR" TO THE SECONDARY MARKET, THEY SHOULD BE SUSPENDED FROM THE PROGRAM. THESE WERE MEANT TO BE CHEAP COLLECTIBLES FOR KIDS. NOT A WAY FOR ADULTS TO MAKE A LIVING. AND IF ANY RETAILER HAS ANY PROBLEMS WITH ANYONE IN THEIR BUSINESS REGARDING BEANIE BABIES, THEN THAT PERSON SHOULD BE ARRESTED. I HAVE HEARD SOME REAL HORROR STORIES. PEOPLE KNOCKING DOWN KIDS AND TAKING THE BEANIES FROM THEM. THA
'S TERRIBLE. IF I WERE THERE, I PERSONALLY WOULD'VE CALLED THE POLICE ON THE WOMAN AND THEN TAKEN THE BEANIE BABY FROM HER AND PURCHASED IT FOR THE KID, AND WAITED FOR THE COPS TO ARREST THE LADY.
- BEANIE BABIES ROCK
- I'm having great fun collecting and am grateful for all the info beaniemom.com provides. It's to bad TY's web page isn't as helpful. An official TY magazine would be nice, something they put out from the company with which collectors could verify their product.
- I breed and show cocker spaniels, so when I heard about Spunky, I wanted it. In the course of looking for just Spunky, I got hooked and started buying other beanies. Other than Spunky, I like the tie dyed beanies the best.
- Miniature bears would be a big hit with beanie collectors as well as people who are into miniatures.
-
- I love most beanie babies, and would like to see a hamster beanie baby. I also wish I could find a retailer who take my order and let me know when my beanies have arrived. It's hard sometimes running around to all the stores to check out inventories.
- Thanks to the great appreciation in value, I have started a vacation fund with proceeds I have received from selling Beanie Babies on the secondary market. My son really likes the dogs and cats. He is very willing to sell others when I tell him that each one we sell increases his Disney World spending money!
- Retail stores in this area have exclusive customer lists. Those on the lists get first shot at all beanies. It takes the fun out of buying beanies when you don't have a chance to buy the most popular ones or the new ones. One retailer sold Princess bears for $100 cash,
no sales receipt, and no Hallmark Gold Crown points. These sales were not entered into their computer register. Something was definitely irregular about this. People were very upset including me.
Beanies are cute and lovable. That is the reason to buy, not to make money. It should be fun not cut-throat.
- i think all stores should limit the quantity to 3 per person
-
I have humphrey, slither, rex, steg, and bronty I paid 900.00 for bronty that was the most expensive beanie I bought to this date, I won Humphrey from les and Sue Fox you can see my picture on page 17 in the 2nd edition of the beanie baby handbook my initials are rs see you later
- I enjoy collecting beanie's for my kids but get frustrated at the
very low supply of special beanies such as Peace, Erin, Princess,
Zip, etc.. Most are raffled for charities (which is fine), but I
would like to see more readily available to the general public at
reasonable prices.
-
-
- I am tired of not being able to get Princess and Erin. What is the purpose of introducing a new bear and not having it available? If they can make lots of the 1997 Teddy then why not Princess and Erin?
- I think that Ty Attic Treasures will become popular (I have over 60, more than half of my collection is retired, and I have valuble ones like Colby the mouse).
-
- I would like tighter control on retailers, so that I have a chance to collect all the beanies. The price is so outrageous on some, that there is no chance for me to get them. I collect for myself and my grandson.
-
-
It's great. I haven't been this interested in something for so long. It feels good to have a hobby. My sisters are interested in beanies and it's nice that we all have something in common and can talk on the internet.
-
-
-
- I like the adventure of collecting, but it can be really a reminder of how sad our cuntry has become. And it has when people will pay more than $2,00 for a pellet filled animal. Don't get me wrong, we have a great and powerfull nation but we are greed obsessed. Or at least some people are. There's nothing wrong with collecting and being a grown up, but you have a sick mind when you will fight with a little child over a toy. My question is why. The world will never know.
-
- I do like what the secondary market has done to Princess and Erin.
My kids collect them and are not interested in selling them. I will pack them away in a few years with the Barbie's and Fisher Price toys.
- Ty should set a MANDATORY price of $5 for each beanie. Secondary market should be illegal and discontinued. The high prices are ridiculous and children can not buy them. Also Ty should produce more so people are not fighting to get them when they see them in stores. Almost everyone has the regular ones so Ty should now produce more of the hard to find ones such as Erin, Princess, Peace, Maple.
-
- I think that Ty has blown the whole thing out of proportion. I love beanies and I do collect, but greedy selfish grownups have taken all the fun out of collecting. Now I'm searching for Teddy and because so many people have turned this into a huge mess, I can't find him for less than $100! I think the grown ups should just let the kids have fun and not take all the valuable or rare ones for themselves. I just like beanies because they are cute and cuddly. Eventually I think that beanies won't be worth
heir weight in beans anyway!! People will get tired of working their brains out for little toy animals!
-
- I think the secondary markup on Princess is disgusting. The profit made off that bear should be given to the charity that the bear was designed to benefit, not individual, greedy people.
- I think some prices are rediculas! They should not be any higher than $50.00.I don't think little beanie filled animals should cost over $50.00!Thanks!
- They should make more Beanie stuff besides the toy.
- I think that Beanie Babies are a passing craze. In a few years they will be worthless. Sell know while they are worth something!
- I think that all beanies should be readily avalible instead of having to pay top dollar for them because you can't find them!!!!
- release more new ones, please
- i would like to add that Peace the bear is the next on my list and he isn't in that part above. Beanie Babies will rock and McDonalds is going to earn a lot wit the next happy meal promotion gig thing.
-
- Beanie Babies are sooo cool!
I love Fleece Magic & Quackers!
- BEANIES RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-
-
Iwould like a contest to pick an animal and it's poem , the winner to get their name on the tag and get B.B. of choice. Also Harry C. B.B. how can someone get a hold of one without paying 5000 that is insane. What did those parents do to those kids to get those cows from them? Icould just imagine.
-
- I have many suggestions for Mr. Warner, so what am I supposed to do when I can't get the address? (I have emailed INfo Beanie, but no reply has come)
-
-
- The hobby is closley following the pattern of Card collecting a few years ago. Ty Warner will make or break the hobby in the next year.
-
- I HATE spooky the ghost!!
-
- I love Beanie babies, but I feel as though I am constantly being ripped off because I am a teenager. I know of many stores that sell Beanies for $5-7 when they recieve a new shipment. Unfortunately, I also know of stores that get away with selling Beanies for $15-20(new releases) and hold Beanies for themselves and their children. I am not able to go out the day of the new releases and buy Beanies because I am in school. I know of mothers who go to work late so they can be at a store at 10a.m., to
et new Beanies. This is incredible. The Beanies were made for children, not for greedy adults looking to make a profit. I intend to keep my collection to show my children when I am older.(Just as I will save my Barbies.) I have talked to my parents about the Beanies and they say that it reminds them of Cabbage Patch Kids. It is sad to think that in a decade people(adults (with children)), have stayed so competitive and greedy. These children watch as greedy, inconsiderate, adults steal their Beanies
ut of there hands. What an example we are setting! To the younger children I know: Please ignore this awful scene. You do not need to act this way. You be the ones to set the example. You be the ones the adults need to follow. Kristin M.,IL
- I think they might retire the Derby without a white star will be retired and the Mystic with the tan horn. Also I think the Rainbow with Iggy's tag and Iggy with Rainbow's tag will go up in value.
- I am nearly 50 years old, saw my first beanie 6 months ago, and have NEVER been so obsessively compulsive about anything in my life as I am about beanies. I started buying them under the guise of giving them to my grandchildren but they're MINE - MINE - ALL MINE!!!!
- I just wish Princess and Erin were more available for the regular price,so we all could have them .
- I wish I knew how to make a little money off of this Beanie craze!
- I love to collect Beanie Babies. Retailers are sometimes rude when you call them and ask if they have Beanie Babies.
- My main dislike is that a childrens toy retired or not is selling for up to 1000x's what it was issued for. Come on people they are cute and all but how can something so small and cheap be sold for as much as they are. My biggest problem is that I can't buy an Erin Bear because of the price. My birthday is St Patricks Day and oddly enough my sister's name is Erin so I thought it would be really great to buy one for my mother and myself, but not at 20x's Ty's issue price! I just don't understand it!!!!!
~Adam Mareth
- The Prices of beanie babies are getting way to high! Parents are going to have to stop buying them, because they can not afford them. Something should be done about the high beanie baby prices.
-
-
- I think they are all just too cute! It was too easy to get hooked on them :)
- I don't like the high prices for some BB's
- i think chocolate, mel, and pounce will retire next.
- I think this is a great pass time. Some retailers are greedy and do not care. They only want to make extra
-
-
-
- I love them! Even though my large collection of mint current and retired beanies might not make me money in the future, I still love to collect them. It is a fun and relatively inexpensive hobby that brings great joy. I really think that the secondary market is both good and bad. It benefits collectors in the way that you can see how much they are selling for at any given time, but the secondary market is sometimes greedy, and often attempts to rip people off. I think merchants have developed nega
ive attitudes toward people who are interested in beanies in general, because the secondary market and greedy beanie collectors have hounded them to the point of exhaustion. I am happy to have taken your survey and wish you luck!

-
- i don't like how ty is marketin
- I feel the Beanie Baby craze is totally out of control. This started for children. The adults have totally ruined a $4.99 stuffed animal that a child could buy with his or her allowance. I recently went to a show standing next to a mother who told her child "I'm buying Erin and you cannot play with it". Kids play with toys that they find cute and enjoyable. The parents have turned this into total greed. I myself I'm starting a collection for my children that I do not even have yet.
I feel that the ship will sink !

It is a fun collection to share with my daughter
-
make beanies more available
- I hate that all the stores in Canada say that Ty says they can't ship to the US because they will be confiscated by customs. This is wrong.
I have called US and Canadian customs and asked them. They say that there is no problem. But they do not want people buying 85 and then reselling them in the US. They said that 10 would be fine. Another thing is that Britania is not available unless you want to pay 500-1200 dollars in the UK and US. Regular retailers in UK are taking
advantage of it and selling it at very high prices. This is wrong. My mom collects Enesco figurines, and wherever she buys them on the 1st. market (direct retailers) the price is the same everywhere even if it is retired, or a special liminted piece. Why isn't Ty doing this.
- I am disgusted by the "authorized retailers" who either sell the "hot" beanies for way more than $5.00 or divert their stock to secondary marketers to split the profit. I understand the secondary market is necessary to increase the value of our beanies, but the authorized dealers are expected to make the beanies available to everyone, especially the children!
- I dislike the fact that Ty Warner retired every single beanie, even the new ones and has not come out with any new ones. I also dislike the fact that Ty doesn't keep very close tabs on their retailers. Quite a few in my area are or were selling the beanies that were currents and will when new come out,for way more than $5. It is more like $250!

- At a store this morning they were selling Princess's for $5.50. I heard that at 6 o'clock this morning that 100 adults were there. And some children. I think it's because of the adults that the beanies are costing so much, after all they are supposed to be for the children.
- I think Ty should do something about keeping prices down so kids can afford to collect beanie babies.
- I dislike it when the retailers sell Princess & Erin for high dollars!!!
- I wish all the stores were honest and would put the beanies out when the receive them and if your'e there you get first choice. Keep the prices where kids can afford them.
- I like that my kids can buy them themselves with their allowance money. I can't stand when retailers pull out certain ones for favorite customers or resellers. I am looking forward to the next McD's teenies. They are the perfect size for my toddler... and yes, I let her play with her beanies. :o)
-
I would like to know Mr. Ty Warner's personal e-mail address. I have some ideas for new BB's that I would like to submit to him. Thanks!

- I think that the Ty inc. sucks. They just played that nasty trick on on us with Daisy in he Internet Diary. Someone is sabotaging their guestbook, so i, and thousands of other people can't, adn they're doing nothing about, even though i wrote to ty@webmaster.com. They say on the beanie pictures that all teddies are retired except brown. They haven't seen out that sheet on pricing philosophy to any reatilers. They are doing nothing about the secondary market and how greedy it is. Etc. etc. etc.
- Chocolate will retire soon
- It is a novel marketing approach. Retiring items clears the retail decks for new stock without leaving large quantities of old stock in the stores. The greed of the secondary markets will eventually hurt the small collectors as it has in other collectible markets. ie: Barbie, Hot Wheels, Coins, Stamps, Sports related items, etc. The high market values placed on some items restricts the less advantaged colletor and eventually drives them from the market. When a collector eventually has to buy all i
ems from a secondary market, that hobby becomes unreachable to most.
-
-
- I think that Princes should be retired because, to many people are making money from her that should'nt be.
-
I have heard that they are making a peach bear and it is going to be realesed on mothers day! I am dying for it! I think that it is rediciolous that in Delaware I cannot find an Erin for lest than $125
- I think that Princes should be retired because, to many people are making money from her that should'nt be.
- I think that some people are paying WAY too much for beanies. I mean I know you like them and all but it's a little rediculas to buy a little stuffed animal for like thousands of dollars. I mean some people are buying a beanie babie for enough to buy a computer!!!!!!
-
- I love my Beanies and wouldn't sell them for anything in the world. My friends at school are always telling me to sell my Beanies and my answer is always NO!
-
-
-
- The secondary market adults are grabbing up all the BBs before the kids
can even get to them. All stores should limit beanies per paying
customer.
- I love BEANIE BABIES!
- I HATE IT WHEN STORES SELL BEANIES FOR MORE THAN $7
-
-
-
-
- I think that the beanie craze is way to big. The prices shouldn't be so high for retired ones and there should be special times when dealers get retired ones to sell to customers.
- I don't like pushie collectors who want to buy more then 2 of each style..I like retailers who are polite and answer my Questions about deliverys.
-
- I don't like pushie collectors who want to buy more then 2 of each style..I like retailers who are polite and answer my Questions about deliverys.
- I think that the craze for beanies is wonderful. This is something all people can enjoy. It can get frustrating when you can't find ones that you need, but other than that i think that it is great.
- I'VE ALWAYS LOVED STUFFED ANIMALS - AS AN ADULT, THIS IS THE FIRST EXCUSE I'VE HAD TO BUY THEM FOR MYSELF! IT'S JUST BEEN GREAT FUN! ALSO, I'VE BEEN ABLE TO MAKE A FEW PEOPLE HAPPY WITH A $5 OR $6 BEANNIE BABY! THAT'S GREAT FUN, TOO !
-
-
- I don't think that direct distributors should jack up the prices on their shipments or if they get a shipment of newly retireds.
- I feel the official ty retailers who jack up the prices should be reported to ty and loose business. Wasn't this meant for children to be able to purchase beanies.
-
-
I hope I can find beanie bears if I do I'm probably to small to pay for them!
-
I hope I can find beanie bears if I do I'm probably to small to pay for them!
- If you are a ty dealer then sell the beanies for the price of $5 - $7. They all cost you the same amount of money. Don't be greedy. The Princess and Erin bears cost you the same as any of the others. Put these out so everyone can purchase them. Not everyone is out to sell them but would like one for their collection. These bears are no different then a hot wheel at chain store (K-mart). You don't see them selling them at the secondary price but at a retail price of 89 to 99 cents.
-
-
- i think you should do something about the greedyness of the secondary market

-
- I love all my beanie babies , I wished I had started my collection sooner than 1998 . I hope the price tag on princess stablelizes.
- WHAT I DON'T LIKE ARE TY'S METHODS OF MANIPULATION. ALSO RETAILERS WHO SELL AT INFLATED PRICES.
-
I am retailer who sells at a fair price ($6, new; $12 newly-retired). I was a bit disheartened recently by Ty's letter to retailers which was too vague and has made some local retailers---the same ones which have gouged customers forever---drop down below keystone ($4.95) on even retireds---for fear of losing their accounts. I keep a customer list and have even purchased two computers....one older model for the store and a pentium for at home to track this list. I call customers when Beanies have come i
...and even hold for up to three days! There is a cost for a service like this (phone bill, manpower, computer, etc.) and I have had to defend myself recently for my pricing policy. To top it off....the "boy who cried wolf" on Beanie announcements is getting tiresome... and may actually be a turn-off to collectors. (Example recent Daisy Diary on May 8th). It's getting that way for some of us retailers...other than that, I am grateful for Beanies and the things they have allowed me, a single mom, to acco
plish in my shop. For that, I thank my lucky stars on a daily basis.
-
Ilove to collect beanie babies.I started to buy them for my daugher and got caught up in it myself.
-
- I think this is a fun adventure- hunting these beanies! I enjoy the people we meet and the sharring of stories of finding favorites. I think there is something more addicting in those beans than nicotine, but much healthier for us and the environment! It is grand fun following the sagas of all these little critters.
- Predictions to retire: Curly, Valentino, Chocolate. Need another butterfly and fish.
-
While visiting England a few weeks ago, I found myself frantically searching for Britannia bears EVERYWHERE. I must have visited at least 50 shops and stores from Stoke-on-Trent to Salisbury, to no avail. Lots of them had not even seen the bear. Who got them, and where are they? That market is just sky-high and somebody is really cutting a "fat hog" there. I find that very offensive when Europe is the only place you can purchase that particular item, and there are none to be had.
- I wish ty. would increase the supply of the bears so the prices won't be so high. I hear that they don't ship them all to the stores on the same order, then complain about the dealers prices. I doesn't make sense.
- i think more stores should sell bb's they would do better if that happens....... i think bb's are THE BEST TOYS and COLECTABLES in the world i try to get as many as possible thanks for the survey i hope it made a difference
-
- i like them ghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhyghjlf t jsosuxroijlsduo ,gfghgvkgbx
- I dislike the fact when I go into an authorized Ty retailer and beanies are $6.99 one night, and the next day I go in and just because they are retire they are raised to $24.99, and the owner tries to tell me she doesn't like this "retired" bit forcing her to raise her prices. What a bunch of bunk!!! No one forced her to raise her prices, certainly not Ty.
- I think the original idea of making an inexpensive toy that children could collect was a great idea, but adults and collectors have taken things too far and they no longer are a kids collectible.
- It's hard to tell if I have an Original. I have two of "Spike" one has a Style # the other does not. Is the other one a counterfeit?
- Prices are so different in the stores. Should be the same price everywhere. And should beable to find the new ones easier.
- I think it's terrible that people stand in line EVERYDAY outside of stores waiting for the delivery trunk to come. People do this not knowing if beanies are on the trunk. What a waste of time!!!! Also, why bother going to these stores because you will never get the new beanies for your children because of these greedy people!
-
-
- I have a hard time understanding why retailers are so rude when I ask them "where" their beanies are and "Do they have...". Collecting beanies is a fun adventure for me.
terri

-
- I thnk Beanie Babies are awesome, Meanie Babies should be dropped. I think Delano Johnson, class Beanie-hater, should be arrested if there was a law against mutilating Beanie Babies.
-
- I think Ty needs to allow more retailers so the market can be more Fair.
-
-
-
- Many of your dealers are selling out the back door, which includes
employees. Some are having raffles, and I wonder what charity they are sponsoring, since there are no signs and you get a different answer every time
- I think that stores should sell beanies for 5-7 dollars unless they are selling on the secondary market which is o.k. to sell them for as much as you want.
-
-
- would like to down load all retired beanies list
- Retailers have spoiled the fun, they've gotten greedy;especially those who say they are a "collectible store" so they are "allowed " to charge high prices! At one time I was obcessed with waiting in lines for hours to buy beanies, just for the thrill of seeing which ones would be on the shelf and which ones I could find that I didn't have yet(even for a duplicate bear), but now you never find any new releases, or hard to find beanies for less than $15 dollars THE THRILL IS GONE. At least with seconda
y dealers you know where they are at , but retailers???? They are like celebrities who don't like to give autographs...they forget how they got where they are!!! I wished I had saved the newspaper article where Ty Warner stated that he would make sure that his retailers would not be allowed to sell above the suggested retail value!!!!The Home Shopping Networks better wake up to a reality check. With the prices they say are "retail" they must be on drugs and anybody who believes what they say about the "
arket Value" (not the secondary market value, mind you) AND BUYS from them, must be on stronger drugs or be brain dead! Techinically they could be and should be sued for misrepresentation.
BUT THEY STILL ARE CUTE AND I HAVE AT LEAST ONE OF EVERY STYLE . But nothing beats the bears . I don't have a Brattania( and probably never will at the prices they are asking) but I do have 2 of each bears, because they are my favorite out of all beanies, except for Erin, I only have one, and I had to trade many retireds for him. (and wouldn't you know green is my FAVORITE color!!!!! ) Thanks for letting me vent, even though I know it will probaly get worse until the public wakes up and the bottom falls o
t for all those greedy retailers. And to Ty Warner.. thankyou for the short year I spent enjoying the hunt , but you didn't keep your word.
- why have exclusives in other countries that only drives the prices up and makes finding them nest to impossible
- They are difficult to obtain in our city.
-
- I feel that unathorized dealers are jacking up the beanie prices way to much and not making it possible to purchase ones you'd like.I collect them for my 3 year old son,and it is hard for me to say No,you can't get that Peking Panda beanie because he costs $1000 and we cannot afford it.I feel that the people who buy and sell beanies are ruining it for those of us who just buy one,and collect them for our children. Thanks for my chance to give my opinion :)
- I dislike the fact that retailers raised their prices almost 50% in this last retirement of Beanie Babies.
- I am just totally amazed by the bb phenomenon. I am not happy with the new custom regulations allowing only one bb per person per 30 days goign in to the US.I don'tt hink they should confiscate bb's from kids.
-

- I wish Princess, Erin and Peace were easier to get...not for only myself, but my girls want them too.

i would like to see some more dinosaurs and new bears. i love to collect beanie babies but i do not want to go bankrupt over them either. i will more than likely sell several of mine in the future but at the moment they look too adorable in my living room. i am amazed at the sudden outcry for these small atuffed animals but i certainly can understand it. thank you very much for allowing me to enter in this survey and goodluck on your quest for more beanie babies.

- dixie doo the shihzu all black with white paws.
- I THINK TY WARNER SHOULD BE AGHAST EACH MORNING WHEN HE LOOKS HIMSELF IN THE MIRROR. HE HAS COMPLETE CONTROL OVER EVERY ASPECT OF HIS BUSINESS TO IN INCLUDE ALL SUPPLY RELATED FUNCTIONS. HE DOES NOT APPEAR TO EVEN HAVE THE OVERHEAD CHARGES OF ADVERTISING- WE THE STUPID CONSUMERS OF HIS PRODUCTS- DO THAT RATHER WELL. IF HE SINCERELY WANTED TO PROVIDE A PRODUCT THAT A CHILD COULD BUY WITH THEIR ALLOWANCE (WHICH HE PROFOUNDLY CLAIMS) HE COULD; HE SIMPLY HAS NO DESIRE TO DO THAT. WHAT WOULD IT TAKE TO R
CTIFY THE GRIEVOUS TRANSGRESSIONS OF CONVERTING A CHILD'S TOY INTO A VERY COMPETITIVE ADULT COLLECTOR'S MARKET? I BELIEVE TY WARNER SHOULD ENACT ON HIS COMMITMENT TO STOP THE SECONDARY BEANIE BABY MARKET BY PRODUCING ENOUGH BEANIE BABIES TO NO LONGER MAKE IT A PROFITABLE ENDEAVOR. THE CONSUMER WILL PURCHASE BEANIES BABIES BECAUSE OF THE CHARACTERS DEPICTED AND NOT AS A COLLECTOR'S ITEM. MATEL CORPORATION HAS BEEN ABLE TO KEEP BARBIE A TOP SELLING TOY FOR OVER 30 YEARS BY PRODUCING ENOUGH BARBIES SO THAT
ANY CHILD COULD PURCHASE THEM. ADDITIONALLY, TY WARNER SHOULD DISCONTINUE THE PRACTICE OF RETIRING BEANIE BABIES UNTIL THE MARKET STABILIZES IN ORDER TO STOP THE FRENZY OF ACQUIRING RETIRED BEANIE BABIES. I LOOK FORWARD TO THE DAY WHEN MY CHILD NO LONGER FINDS BEANIE BABIES DESIRABLE AND I CAN DELETE THEM FROM MY SHOPPING LIST.
- Please tell me how all these people get the special beanie babieslike Princess and i can not find a single store in cincinnati that sells beanie babies
- I started collecting in Feb. of 1998 for a cousin that is quite ill. It's fun for me and it puts a a little sunshine in her life and a smile on her face.
You meet some very intresting people on Beanie Hunts. Can't wait for the new ones to come out.
- I think what is going to happen with the beanie baby trend is that it is going to go away in a few years and everyone that has been buying them and putting them away will take them out and give them to their children/grandchildren/dog etc. because they will think they aren't worth anything and that they wasted their money so they might as well get some kind of use out of them. Then, in about 20-30 years the beanies will make a comeback and be worth tons especially since all those collectors from the 1
90's started playing with them and now they aren't mint or don't exist anymore. Look at what happened with the Cabbage Patch Kids. Don't you think that a Cabbage Patch Kid mint with a mint box is worth something now?
- I LOVE BEANIES
- I am new to this and what scares me is not being able to spot the fakes and keep from buying them. I would love to see a lot of pictures of what to watch out for and what to do if I accidently buy one.
- I don't like it that we can't find the bears to buy such as Peace
well not any of them unless we want to pay a lot of money cause the only ones out there are not from the ty dealers
-
I think that the retailers should have restrictions placed on them for selling any b.b. above the normal retail price. When you can find a store selling Erin the price is above $150.00. He is a current b.b. and should be priced accordingly until that changes.
-

- I have yet to see a Princess or Erin on an actual shelf in any store! Searching can get very frustrating at times! I have never had so much fun with a collectible! and I have been an avid collector of all sorts, i.e. Dept. 56 snowbabies, snowbunnies, Cherished Teddies, Hallmark ornaments, Barbies! I have put all of those on hold since my daughter and I discovered Beanie Babies! I have even invented a pattern for a beanie baby carrier out of the cutest animal prints. It is a drawstring duffel bag-
ype, fully-lined and holds 25 beanies inside and has 8 clear pockets on the outside around the bottom. I have sewn 200 of them so far. I had spoken with a Ty rep last fall in regards to Ty using my pattern, but was told Ty does not manufacture items of this nature. Would love for Ty Warner to see them sometime though! They really are cute! I get lots of compliments on them. THANK YOU TY WARNER FOR GIVING MYSELF AND MANY OTHERS SUCH AN ENJOYABLE PAST-TIME!!!
-
- I don't think it's right that the price in my area for Beanies has gone up to $7.99 instead of $5.99 as it was in the past I understand supply and demand is good but the retailers should keep the price the way it was so children can afford to buy them. Also I would like to see more current Beanies available, it sometimes retires before my area stores even recieve them!

- I wish it was easier to get Princess and Erin. They are not easy to find, let alone fine them at a reasonable price.
-
-
- My children and I have alot of fun running around town trying to find Beanies. We have had a really great time collecting the ones that we have. We have also met some really nice people.
- My brother got me into Beanie Babies but he has been in them for a year, what shocks me the most is the greed of people associated with collecting and selling them.
-
- I wish Brittania and Maple were available in the US. Also I wish Erin were more attainable
-
-
-
Around here they sell beanies for really good prices! I'm thankful for that.
-
- LIKE THE PRICES AT $5 - 6 -- MAKES IT EASIER FOR KIDS TO BUY THEM. ALSO LIKE THE QUALITY OF FABRIC USED AND THE CUTENESS OF THE BEANIES.
- I like collecting the beanies.I'm tired of hearing about the secondary market. If it weren't for them I wouldn't be able to have as many as I do.They are next to impossible to find in the stores.
- Ithink Beanie Babies are cute and my kids love them. I think they should remain affordable for the kids.
- A little more timely information fro TY on new and retireing beanies would be nice. A good clearing house on counterfiet beanies would be VERY nice with descriptions of what to look for. Beany Mom does a good job.
-
-
- i wish you would make more dinosuars and sell them cheaper.
-
-
- I feel the quoted value will drop soon, just like other toys ei cabbage patch, elmo etc. this is due to the greed of secondary dealers and the seemingly unablity of TY to supply the demand. This market is contrived by TY and manipulated by dealers, both retail and secondary.
-
- I dislike that I can't get my hands on a Erin bear. I wish they would have retired at least one of the current bears. I also wish Ty would make a gecko.
- I dislike that I can't get my hands on a Erin bear. I wish they would have retired at least one of the current bears. I also wish Ty would make a gecko.
-
- I just collect the cats because I collect cats. I have no information on trends or opinions on trends. I enjoy looking at all Beanie Babies while shopping for the cats.
-
-
-
- I think that Beanie Babies are wonderful, but the prices get a little out of hand. As Ty said, he doesn't set any of those crazy prices like the ones for Erin, Princess and others like Royal Blue Peanut. But I will never give up on Beanie Babies, I love then to much. (I am not a greedy person like I seem to be from my survey)
-
- I do not like the lottery system that some retailers are using with regard to Princess. One retailer is doing a lottery...if yopu win, you can buy Princess for $99.00. This is absurd.
-
- I LOVE BEANIES!!!
- I work for a store that sells BBs--not secondary! I find the greed disgusting and the attitudes of some of the 'collectors' are rude and obnoxious. When we get BBs, some people swarm in as if we were selling a cure for cancer! When we run out, people don't believe us and try to get into our stock rooms. If only the whole thing would calm down a bit and give the children a chance at some fun instead of being taken over by so-called adults! We had a drawing for a chance to purchase Princess for $4.9
. Ten names were drawn and one was a young girl about 8 years old. When she got the phone call, she and her sister ran outside to their dad screaming at the top of their lungs that they had to go to town. When they got to our store, the winner was almost speechless; her sister had to do some of the talking. The dad stood there with an amused, affectionate look on his face through the whole thing. This is the way it should be--for the kids!

- People that are collecting best stop complaining and just stop paying over 10-15 for a beanie. These are the people that have fed the greed. Lets keep it fun folks.
- I have a prized beanie. An old faced violet Teddy. I love him very much.
-
- no.I WANT PRINCESS & ERIN!!!

- I think that the price should be $4.99 just like it use to be. You should keep them out for longer-like a lot of my friends had never heard or seen humphry the camel, sting the ray, the snake, etc.
- my husband and father of my 3 kids died x-mas day this collecting has been therapy for us do not like GREEDY 2cd market Ty should discourage them from being allowed on the guestbook. Reasonable trading and selling is ok.,
- I wanted to get a Bones at a Mr. Bulky. I asked how much it was, and they said maximum: 19.99 dollars!!!!! I was so mad! People sould make beanie babies more affordable. Everyone should be able to own at least 1!!! I am sick of people selling Erins and Princesses for over 200 dollars! It's sick!
-
- I think that it is CRAZY what people do just for a little bean bag animal! Some of the prices are out of this world! I really want Peace, but of course, it's more than $30! I wish people could make them more affordable.
-
wish I had better access to them. I collect mainly for my daughter. We use them for her speech class. They have helped immensly
- I love beanie babies!
-
-
I love beanies I think they're great, I wish I could get them all.
-
- I just love Beanie Babies! They are so cute!
-
I love beanies I think they're great, I wish I could get them all.
- I wish that beanie baby prices could not go over 50 dollars. That way I would be able to obtain more beanies
-
- I BELIEVE THEY SHOULD MAKE A RED ANT NAMED ANTIE.
-
- I've been enjoying the beanie baby hobby since mid 1997 and will continue to collect them. Knowing that my collection will be treasured by my children - when they're grown - adds to my enjoyment of the hobby. Thank you

I think all the people that get up-in-arms about the prices of beanies are the worst of all. The only "REAL" they complain about the prices is because they know that there are some out there that they will never be able to afford, and that bothers them. I think everyone should not get mad at the secondary market people, it is not them that made the beanies collectible, it is TY. TY claims that the beanies are intended as a $5.00 toy so "EVERY" child has a shot at getting one, but they make beanies like the
97 Teddy and Snowball, and ONLY produce them for 2 Months....That's 72 TOTAL to all TY dealers....then RETIRE them, somebody tell me how EVERY child had a shot at that beanie. They did'nt. My word to the grumpy people out there is this...keep your comments to yourself, because when you come in our stores and have a fit, you are only making yourself look bad. I'm sure you don't go into the 1 local grocery store and complain that a certain product is a different price elsewhere, do you? Then again, seeing mo
t of you, you probably do!!
-
-
- Beanies are the first thing I ever started collecting, but you have to be careful, sometimes, you waste a ton of money on them and then you think, I could have bought a whole bunch of clothes with ALL of that money I spent. I bought close to 40 in a month, and now I wish that I had slowed down, if you know what I mean. I really enjoy how Ty talks to us through the info beanies. That is a clever idea, although sometimes a teeny bit corny if you know what I mean
- I think that the large retirement this time will put a little kink into the secondary market because the ones retired have been out for quite awhile and alot more people have had the chance to get them. Also anyone wanting to start the collection know don't have so many current ones to get going. KEEP THE BEARS COMINT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I dislike the fact that it is very hard to get an assortment of Beanies.TY always releases the same old ones over and over. The newer ones are very hard to find. If you don't have some kind of conections then you just don't get a chance to get the new ones. I haven't seen a Princess for under $100.00. Ty had said that anyone who wanted one would be able to get one at the normal price-yea right! And newly released Erin is impossible to find and already selling for $100.00. Collecting them used to be fun
Greedy people are ruining a hobby that normal people used to be able to afford. Too bad there wasn't a place to call to turn in retailers hoarding and price gorging. Bust a few and maybe people will be wary and comply. Also in my opinion, TY is controlling the market by only releasing a few, creating a frenzy and helping to let greedy retailers control the price market.
- I Want for ty to come out with a ferret. My name is CORNHOLIO?
-
-
ratailers hick prices to high and are unfair to customers
- I absolutely ADORE beanie babies! I can't pass by a store without checking if they have beanies!
-
- I beleive everyone should have the same oppertunity to aquire beanies, at the same price. My children would like princess and erin for the collection, but I cannot afford to pay the outragous prices being asked. It is not fair to the mo children, and isn't this what they were designed for?
- Ty's email address is: Webmaster@TY.com
-
- I think that if the money for Princess is going to charity why doesn't TY make millions of them? I know that all of my friends agree with me and I'm sure that a lot of you do too
-
- Dear Beanie People,
I desire beanies a lot. I have Princess, Erin and the retireds and currents that I purches in stores. I absolutely love beanies but when the Ty site says that theyare retiring beanies Ib feel theybsgould do it right away.
- Beanie Collecting is a fun, harmless hobby. It has become a challenge with my friends to see who gets what (and we buy for each other when we find something needed. I dislike the secondary market greedies who make it hard for those of us who are just collecting for the fun, and for children.
-
- I'm tired of places like crafters village uping their prices just because they have a bear or retired beanies. How do I let Ty know about these places? It's getting to the point where they are too expensive for me to buy and I'm gonna stop if these places don't stop selling all the beanies they receive for the same price. I love collecting them they are so cute. I'm 9 months pregnant and I'm still out there going from store to store. I just got squealer for the baby crib and he is the most lovable one
et. I hope Ty takes care of these places so I can keep enjoying these wonderful beanie babies.
- I want a Princess for $5.00 not $150.00-200.00 from retailers!!
- The grey market, why do people have to charge so much, gee, it's for the kids
-
- I live in Wisconsin they sell beanies for really high prices. Except for a few stores.
- I think it's terrible when the adults go in and purchase all the beanies and then try to make a large profit from them. If it's supposed to be for the children, there are alot of disappointed children out there.
- Ty not cracking down on retailers that sell $4.99 HTF beanies for $300
-
- Doesn't it just bewilder you that these... toys... have gotten so incredibly valuble?!?
- Beanies are great!
-
I just think its terrible people are charging so much and asking people to pay high prices for a $2.25 toy
- I like the survey.
I think that derby, daisy, peace, doby, and wrinkles will be retired
-
-
-
Beanie babies RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
- It is fun, but I refuse to buy second market.
- i dont really mind if the retailers were only selling for a reasonable amount but when you start going into the hundreds of dollars for NON-RETIREDS then it makes it so everyone can not complete a collection ...there is not one authorized dealer in the bergen and hudson counties besides chains like zany brainy and noodle kadoodle who are selling princess and erin for less than 100$ and i do go to many stores hunting for them
This type of market will bring beanie collecting to an end because it is discouraging to those who do not have hundreds of $ to spend on them
I hope the next Hot Beanie to come out can be gotten for less than 100
ONe question: I have never seen a princess or Erin at Nordstroms (Paramus says they donate to charity) Noodle Kaddodle (I have gone every shipment day since January) Why doesnt TY give the GOOD GUYS like noodle kadoodle more BEARS
-
-
-
- I really wish that secondary market retailers would not grab all of the beanies, I have a hard time finding them and I can not afford high prices. I have looked for Erin, Princess and Peace for my 3 daughters but the market value on them are high. My girls receive beanies when I can find them so they can play with them, it gives me great joy to see their happy faces when they make games and sleep with them at night. I will not buy any beanie to just sit on a shelf. Have you given any thought to a H
spital Beanie or Red Cross Beanie? My daughter had surgery in April and I thought that would be a neat idea for children staying in the hospital. Thank you for listening!
- I think that you should pay regualar price for current beanies.
-
-
- I need to know if there is a address where I can report vendors for selling beanie babies for outrages prices. A florist in my area is charging $14.95 for the newly retired beanies. I think this is outrageous. Before they retired they charged $5.95. Is there anyone I can complain to or write to. Another florist in my area received 4 Princess bears, they raffled 1 off each week. The raffle was $1.00 and all procedes when to 4 local charities. This was such a good idea.
Other places are charging $5.00 a ticket and nothing is going to charity. This one shop said it was to cover there cost. What cost?
-
- I think Ty should bring out beanie babies in groups of what animal they are- like ine time bring out all bears, next bunnies, and so on.
- So much of what you can get seems to depend on luck--getting to the right place at the right time. While that is part of the fun, it also takes quite a commitment to keep checking to see what new things are in.
- Although I buy for my 2 children (that's why there are so many in the collection) I think I'm more hooked on the "hunt" than they are. I scan the internet and have found some wonderful people to do business with and I even got a Princess for $6!! My children and I share her.
- I DISLIKE THE IDEA THAT STORES ONLY GET AT LEAST 10 PRINCESSES AND ALWAYS SELL THEM FOR SO MUCH. I THINK THAT TY SOULD MAKE MORE PRINCESS BEARS AND ONLY ALOW THEM TO BE SOLD AT THE REGULAR PRICE $5.00-$10.00
{O: {O: {O: THANK YOU: KRISTEN SMITH :O} :O} :O}
- i think in canada they should sell beanies cheaper
- I'd like to have the bears a little more accessible. Right now, they're almost impossible to find. I'd also like more mythical creatures.
-
- I would like to be able to buy special collector beanie babies, much like some of the established collectible clubs do like hummels, lladros, swarouski crystal, etc. They would be like a series your were able to add to each year, perhaps a small series.
-
- I really would like to be able to collect all the Beanie Babies that were first out, I just started collecting for my children and the boys want all the weird onew, dinosaurs, fishes, bats, lizards and I just can no afford the prices they want. Will I ever be able to purchase all of them for just $5.99 each? Desparate mom for her boys
- I like beanie babies-- but people are getting way too greedy. I will only trade beanies over the internet, not buy over the internet. A lot of people don't want to trade beanies, and if they do they want too much for their beanies. If the secondary market continues to be greedy with the prices and supplies of certain beanies, collector will eventually stop collecting. Authorized dealers should not be able to charge over $10 for beanies. When I first started collecting, I could get Curly, Peace and
Valentino for $5.99 from a authorized dealer in my town. Now, the sell them for $15.99. I think that is unfair to younger collectors. The dealer in the secondary markets can still buy at these prices and charge $50 for Peace and some people will actualy pay it. It is very annoying!
-
Princess bear and Erin bear are way too hard to find and Ty has allowed the price to escalate so high that people are unable to acquire the bears. My eight year old wants Princess and Erin for her may birthday and we are unable to pay in the hundreds to purchase them.
- The BB are adorable, and I love to collect them. I do feel, however, that the animalistic behavior is getting a little ridiculous. The toys were ultimately designed for children to enjoy. The stories I've heard about people lining up for hours and underhanded selling are verging on obscene.
- I don't like that retailers only receive limited supplies of beanies making it very difficult to complete your collection.
- Beanie Babies are the best!!!!!!
- I hate the fact that Princess and Erin are priced way over market and that they are very difficult to find.
-
- I like the limited availability to some extent. I do not feel that whole dozens should be sold to individuals. I have yet to see a hard to find bear at any retail outlet. No matter what time I get there.
- Beanie Baby collecting is a fun and exciting hobby, I've had a blast meeting other collectors and learning about the Ty product. Hopefully my chidren can gain from this in the future. At the next retirement, look for a ton of bears to go!
- I'm really sick of seeing Princess and Erin being sold for $100 and up. Why can't they be regular priced Beanie Babies so that everyone can afford to purchase them? I understand that profits from the sale of Princess go to charity, yet I cannot help but feel that the high price of this Beanie is due to the greed of many retailers. There is no reason Erin should be as expensive, either. We all love collecting Beanie Babies, but we must remember that this toy was intended to be an affordable toy for CHIL
REN. $100 per beanie is not affordable for a child!
-
-
-
-
- I appreciate retailers that sell ALL beanies at $5-6. I dislike retailers that increase their price the day retireds are announced.
- I don't appreciate it when the tags on the beanies, both swing and tush, are mismarked. I also don't like seeing stores sell beanies for more than the recommended $5.00. I don't understand why Ty seems to hold back on distributing for a month or so, and then all of the sudden, they release them when they feel like it. If there is such a high demand for beanies, why don't they make more of them?
- what I dislike is the fact that some retailers mark up the new beanies to a out of this world price. There is one store named Fraser Frames in Fairburn GA; and they sale them for $5.00 plus tax. I would like to thank them and you for staying affordable. Thank you

I think ty will come out with a peacock and I wish those cart stands in the malls, selling beanies for $$$, were gone. Then my children wouldn't have to see them and ask for one(cause mom refuses to pay that much for one). Have a nice day=o)
- I think adults should butt out and let kids enjoy their collecting. Most kids don't have 50-100 dollars to buy 1 beanie.
-
- I think the most frustrating thing about collecting BB's is the lack of availability of some and over abundunce of others. I also think that the retailers charging excessive prices for new ones (especially Princess) as well as requiring customers to buy an old one in order to purchase a new one are ruining the excitement and challenge of collecting beanie babies. I have three daughters and we have had a blast searching for the next one we need. The quality time together has been wonderful. But some
retailers and other indviduals have left a bad impression on children who love the product and enjoy the anticipation of what will be next. My daughters have lost interest lately and quite honestly so have I. Depressed in DePere, WI

- I think stores are way too greedy! At a restaurant called DZ Akins, they had Princesss and Erin... for 150 and 200! And then when I called them to see when they're next shipment would be and if they were getting Princess and Erin... They said the Princesses and Erins and been lost in the order so people would put they're name on a list and then when they came in they'd get it for a "special" price... 129! i love collecting beanies babies, I have 101 and I am still hoping to add more, but, I think that
this innocent hobby for kids has turned into an all adult hobby! At Nordstrums one day there was a woman who was grabbing all the Doodles out of everyones hands and trying to buy them. I am 10 3/4 old and I have never been more disgusted with people like this... also at the prices! When the January releases came outs I had just purchased the last of the ones I needed... Stretch and then I saw a stand selling all the releases for 50 bucks a pop! Saying they just arrived! And they are still selling them at
that price! I love collecting beanie but a word of advice... don't encourage greedy people by buying they're beanies. The ess you show intrest the lower they drop they're prices.

I dislike it when they retire new beanies. I don't like the amount of control Ty has over the number of Beanies made to make them more popular due to demand.
- Personally, I think they are wonderful little creatures, inexpensive, and
delightful to give to friends and children to cheer them up. I enjoy them for their symbolic value. I have a friend who is into Polar bears
and I gave her Chilly - she has two. I have only discovered this craze in the last 3 weeks, and find it absolutely incredible. I am very annoyed at the retailers who hold back stock for the retirement, and then put it out at twice the price! We have one store here NOT doing that. If I had a Beanie worth money I would sell it to finance a trip for my daughter to visit her friends in Prince Edward Island, Canada. But mostly, I think they should just be enjoyed for their cuteness and sentimental value.
have succumbed to the degree that I leave the tags on now. As my daughter says, I am attached to my little Beanies, whereas, she thinks they are just cute little animals and would have no sense of loss in selling them. It might be a little less crazy in Canada but not by much. I am appalled at Customs taking little children's Beanies away! What happened to free trade?? -- it only applies to huge corporations, and not children and grandmas??
People are very hard on the clerks in the stores, blaming them for the
bent tags, and they come packed 24 to a bag from the factory. Some stores are considering not carrying them anymore -- the stress level is too high and the the phone calls interfere with normal work levels. Others state the only reason they are still in business is the sale of the Beanies. There are two sides to this whole phenomenon, one good, one horrible. Greed and children's toys should not come together.
Darlene
- I PURCHASE A FEW FOR MY CHILDREN IF I HAPPEN TO SEE THEM. BUT WHEN THEY WENT OVER $7.00 I DREW THE LINE. NOW IF THEY GET ONE IT'S FROM A FREIND OR GRANDMA. IT'S SAD THAT SUCH A GREAT CONCEPT - AFFORDABLE, QUALITY TOYS FOR KIDS HAS BECOME SUCH A BUSINESS OF GREED. YES, THEY ARE CUTE, BUT NOT WORTH SO MUCH. WHEN I SEE PEOPLE AT MALLS AND STORES STANDING IN LINE FOR HOURS I WANT TO GO UP TO THEM AND SAY - GET A LIFE!! IT'S JUST A TOY!! MY CHILDRENA ARE CONTENT TO PLAY WITH WHAT THEY HAVE. I'VE SEEN
OTHERS TAKE KIDS OUT OF SCHOOL, AND WAIT FOR HOURS, DRIVE ALL OVER THE PLACE. WHAT DOES THAT TEACH OUR CHILDREN? AND THE RETIRED PRICES. THAT SOMEONE WOULD SPEND THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS ON A LITTLE STUFFED TOY IS A SAD REFLECTION OF THE TIMES. HOW LONG WILL IT BEFORE SOME OTHER NEW HOT ITEM TAKES THEIR PLACE? WHY CAN'T WE LEAVE CHILDREN'S THINGS FOR THE CHILDREN!?!
- I sell beanies as a volunteer in a hospital gift shop. We are
overwhelmed when a shipmenr arrives, but we never sell over
$5.50 each. We auctioned off to charity 12 Princess Dianas and
raised thousands for several charities of their choice.
- Authorized Resellers should be prevented from "setting aside" BB's
for employees, etc, EXCEPT for raffles. This is the most unfair practice I've seen by Authorized resellers - and must be stopped!
-
- I have a problem with the prices on the secondary market where one can purchase the retireds, it is rediculous.
- I think Curly, Crunch, and the monkeys will retire next.
- It is impossible to get Erin Or Princess for under 100 - 150. That is not right.
-
- I think that more Princess Bears should be made available. The general public cannot afford $200 plus.
-
- I was disappointed that none of the bers were retired on May 1. Hoping that there will be a surprise "bear" retirement soon.
-
I just simply love the Ty beanie babies--hope they are around forever.Hope they stay at around the $6.0 price for currents so children and new collectors can have the opportunity to purchase and love them as I do. As far as prices on the secondary market, they have the right to ask whatever--as we have the right to either purchase them or not--that should let them get the message if their beanies don't sell.
- I feel that a secondary market for beanies is fine. I am in the secondary market, buying and selling. The only thing I don't agree with is greedy secondary market people. I think at stores the kids should get first pick and then the adults. It shouldn't be first sell out the back door, then to the adults, then to the kids.
-
-
-
I just wish that I could have them all for myself as well as my fiance
- I don't like that the Beanies I really want badly, ( wich is trap, colored teddies, oldies , dino trio, and others) I can't get because of prices, demand , and that it is very rare or very valuable. Also , I am scared when I find a Beanie that someone is offering at a reasonable price, and know that it is probably a counterfiet or just that person won't send you your merchendise. There are some terrible people who lie and rip people off. I think that it is scary to be dealing with one of them. You neve
know.
- I like the original quality designs that Ty coes up with. I don't like the swxondary market.
-
-
- i love beanie babies and i can't wait til they come out with some new ones. my name is ashley ginn.
- I get really angry at selfish people who buy up all the beanies for the secondary market, causing casual collectors to give up,and deny children. Beanies became popular because they were origionally reasonably priced gifts, now they are so valuable I hate to let my kids play with them. I also get mad at the people who jack the prices up on new or recently retired beanies.
-

- Like to see cute prehistorical animals, bugs (like butterflies) and fish.
- I dislike the way that the price goes up because someone holds a few and make them hard to get. Now that the May retired ones have been announced, the last new ones are all over. Before the
announcement you couldn't find them anywhere. I don't think Peace, Maple, Erin, Brittany or Princess should be retired until they start showing up, so we don't have to pay a arm and a leg for them. Somewhere these are being held so that someone makes money.
They are a childs toy, not a money maker for the greedy.
- they are so cute and the quality is a-1 for the price
- I think beanie babies are great! I just wish there weren't so many greedy store owners trying to make a big profit on beanies that are not retired and still on the market(i.e. princess and erin) I have never seen them in the retail stores in my area for less than $150. The other day however I found a store taking orders for both those beanies for $6.oo each I just don't understand.
-
-
- the beanie babies are a very fun collectible and are fun looking for.
- I wish people who sell beanies on the internet realize that no one is going to buy any common currents for 10 dollars when they can go buy one for 6!
-
These are great
-
- I first bought Mystic because I thought she was so sweet and I had a white horse, myself. From there it has blossomed and even my husband is buying now. It's fun.
- I Love Beanies !!!!
-
-
-
- I think beanies are very cute and fun to collect. I have met a lot of very nice people collecting.
-
-
We love the Beanies!! Keep them coming!! Thanks.
- I don't like retailers who are buying BB's at cost and sell them at inflated prices.
-
-
-
- I think, it is stupid that people are soooooooo obsessed with Beanie Babies!! I admitt, that I love them but, only because they are cute. Another thing I would like to add Ty Warner is such a JERK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yea he really wants kids to be able to aford them!!! HE IS JUST SELFISH AND GREEDY!!!!!! HE IS IN IT FOR THE $$$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I believe that retailer owners are out to make more money when they get a shipment in and instantly put it on the secondary market, they forget that people do really love these little critters. My grandsons play with them and how can I tell them you can't play with that because grandma paid $60, they do not comprehend that, it is a lovable toy.
- I am a teacher using beanies for educational purposes as well as for family/children's presents. Refuse to buy from secondary if prices over ten dollars. It is a ripoff for all families and children. Ty should refuse to send orders to retailers with overpricing policies.
-
since i was infected with the bb flu i also infected 6 others
- I have had a really good time collecting the Beani babies. An really like all of them. They are part of my family now.
What I don't like is the people ripping comsumers off. Prices should be set and anyone caught changing prices should be punished. Secondary market should have rules as well, but how does a person control them. If they got caught selling for extremly high prices retailers should not allow them to buy form them any more.
My husband & I are Beanie Baby Beginner Lovers
Thank you
Pam & Mark Wagner
- Make more promotional beanies around chicagoland
-
-
- I THINK THE TY DEALERS WHO SELL ONLY TO PERSONAL FRIENDS AND EMPLOYEES SHOULD BE DROPPED. THIS IS NOT FAIR TO THE PEOPLE THAT WORK EVERY DAY AND CAN NOT SIT IN THE PARKING LOTS WAITING ON THE UPSGUY.
- First with the Princess phenomenon, and then with the Erin phenomenon, I sometimes feel that Ty is jerking the consumer around. That the Princess Bear would be in short supply and limited in number is understandable. She's a special bear. But Erin...? Not in the same league with Princess, certainly, but there has been a dearth of Erins since the toy was "born." This seems to be a Ty gimmick -- only a few per dealer -- and I don't like it. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth about buying future beani
s.
- I like Beanie Babies alot but I hope they can make more of them faster which would hopefully make them a little cheaper and easier to get. I also think TY shold have a couple contests to make beanies i.e. Children Design a Beanie. I really hope that Beanies will be eaasier to get like they were before they became popular like when i started collecting.
- I hope beanies never stop selling! I really want to collect them all!!!
They are so cute! The price should go back to 5.00 though
- I,m an old woman that loves these little darlings. I wish I had my own beanie shop, then everyone around my town could afford one.I dislike the attitude of some merchants, in my town, that treat customers like they are doing us a favor by selling b.b. in there shop. Some of these shops wouldn,y have much bussiness if it weren,t for the sale of beanies..thanks for asking...
-
- Was shocked at the high number of retireds May 1 98. I despise how the authorized Ty dealers are gouging people on the Princess Bear.
- I have never visited your website until now and you can be sure that
I will be on it everyday now!!! It is so awseome!! Thanks!!
-
I feel kids don't get a fair shot in the industry to purchase beanie babies at a fair market value. I collect beanies with my daughters so they can learn a "childs stock market", also the Princess bear and Erin was handled poorly, most children will never own one.

I LOVE THEM ALL
-
- I love beanie's!they are so cute.My fav. beanie's are princess,garcia,peace,rainbow,iggy,and flash!

- I like to collect beanie babys but sometimes the newly retired ones are very expensive. You should also bring Erin, and Princess down to $5.99 or less like Ty Warner says.
Sincerly
Broy Klein
-
- I predict Blackie will retire.
-
- All beanie babies should be sold for 5.99-10 dollars. The secondary market is rediculous. I also don't think it is fair that stores are only able to order a limited amount. I wish there was a way to order them through the mail at a regular price.
-
- I JUST WISH THAT THESE RUDE RETAILERS WOULD REALIZE THAT THEY BRING MOST OF THIER PROBLEMS UPON THEMSELVES, AND WE PAY THIER SALARY!!!!!
- I enjoy collecting them and hope it continues. I dislike the fact that you can't buy any rare ones at the normal price even in a retail store. There is always a way they make you spend more money.
-
-
- Ithink that all the fake TY BB's the makers shold be sued
-
-
I think the secondary market is WAY too greedy. I have seen Princess for $450, Erin for $250 and so on. I just want some Beanies!
- There should be more bears!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I hate that Princess and Erin are usually only found in secondary markets for huge prices. I really like them and want them. I think it would be cool if they introduced a new one each month and retired them that way too. I don't like 10 at a time coming out.
-
- I think Beanie Babies are for children. Not for money-hungry dealers.
- Beanie Babies, are fun to collect. I buy them for my children, I use them as a form of reward when my kids, do good. It's really a phenomenon, which I believe will only get bigger. I try and buy only what I can afford, some beanies, are just out of reach. I can't see myself paying,200.00, for a princess bear. There is too much greed out there. Some of the distributors, are worst than secondary market. They hike up the prices, for no reason at all. TY's customer complaint, what are they going too do----
ot sell to the merchants, that are making money for them----NOT. Overall it's a nice hobby, but I feel TY, should do something about the way merchants price--their product.
- I think it's rridicolous to selll a bag of beans for $5,200
- I do not like the way they make special addition beanies so hard to get. If you do not work at or know someone that works at a store that carries them you may never complete your collection.
- I THINK THIS HAS GONE WAY TO FAR I COLLECT FOR THE KIDS AND YOU CANT EVER FIND THEM AND IF THEY DO HAVE THEM THEY COST AN ARM AND A LEG NOT ALL PEOPLE ARE MADE OF MONEY AND THE CHILDREN JUST DONT UNDERSTAND I THINK THEY SHOULD MAKE IT SO THEY CANT CHARGE ANY PRICE THEY WANT ANY WAY HAPPY BEANIE HUNTTING
- My son and I love all the beanies. We have a Schnauzer named Ladybug and would love to see a Schnauzer beanie. We would also like to see a Woodpecker, Cardinal and Bluejay. I would like to see stores in our area STOP allowing beanie baby purchase only with a set dollar amount purchase of other items in the store. The Cottage in Lubbock , Texas will not allow a beanie purchase without another purchase, to me it's beanie blackmail, especially when children so desperately want them.
-
- I have two beanie babies that just retired resently! I was so amazed when I read the Beanie Mom Netletter! I was hoping that my collection would be worth something!
- I would love to see a German Shepard beanie; they are my favorite dog
suezq@niu.edu
- just to say that I disagree on the secondary markets prices for current
BB.
-
- I dislike the unscrupulous dealers. As soon as a Beanie is difficult to find, they "up" their price. (Even if it's not retired). I believe in private enterprise, but this is too much.
-
-
-
- I think that TY has a good thing going, but if he isn't careful, he is going to get too many people angry at him and the whole market will cave....like what happened with the Cabbage Patch Kids. Ty Warner is himself, getting a bit too greedy and controlling.
- Really like. . .the Beanies, which are all adorable!
Really dislike. . .the obsessive/compulsive behavior exhibited by way too many of the *adult* collectors (under the guise of collecting for their children, most of whom couldn't care less about this passing fad).
- It seems the lowest price beanies on the secondary market retire first.
- If you have a mailing list I would like to be added. Please E-mail Me at: DaleTiedemann@PWSB33.ab.ca
- I hope Ty does something about the slowing down of the BB market. He needs to make more types of BBs and have more harder to find. At the current rate everyone will have all the currents and need nothing. I want BBs to stay a collectables. If Ty dosen't do anything this BB thing will only be a fade. A fade not long lived.
- I wonder why pinky didn't retire on may 1st.HMMMMMMMM, was it because she was popular?
-
- My 11 year old daughter and I LOVE Beanie Baby Shopping and Collecting and don't mind spending up to $10 for them. We consider it exciting to finally the one we have been searching for in a store! But I get furious with dealer's who hide the most wanted Beanies in the back for their special friends and employees, or the ones, like TEDDY BEAR TOWNE in Mesquite, Texas that routinely jacks up the price so that no child could afford to buy them! I don't believe TY is doing a good enough job watching ove
the business practices of their distributors and I sometimes believe they are helping to create the problem by not sending out mass quantities of the Bears to all the stores at once. But I still love it!!!!!!
- I think Beanie Babies are the cutest toys ever. My son {14} daughters {10&11} love them. Even my husband approves of our collection. I just wish people would be more honest and fair. There has to be a secondary market to handle the older beanies but I wish there was some way to watch them.
- The secondary markets should definitely be dropped and TY should really increase the amount of beanies it produces, they take advantage
of people by making limited Erins, princesses, Brittania to be sold ONLY in Britian is crap, if u collect beanies, u want them all-PERIOD!!!
- It would be nice to see some kind of control on pricing. We have one store that sells for 4.99 and another 5.99 for the same beanie than around the corner you have the same beanie going for 8.00. I realize that I am a older collector but my niece is only little and she has to really save up her allowance to purchase a beanie. Not to mention the fact that I've come across hoarders of beanies. One day they don't have one and the next day they have 10. While I'm sure this pra ctice is everywhere, the
e are children who are trying to keep up collecting. The smile on a childs face when they come across one they have been looking for is so enjoyable. I just hope the serious collectors don't take that from them. After all this was a childs toy first.
- I wish that claude and tuffy would reitre someday soon.
-
-
- It has to be a very bad addiction and my daughter and I suffer from it in the worst way. We eagerly await the next new arrivals and retiree's. With both of us having all currents and some retires the chase is more interesting to find the retiree's we need.
- The whole "todo" over Princess and Erin is a bother. To hard to get from retailers. Even retailers were/are selling them for outlandish prices. Ty made it difficult to purchase because of the limited amount avaliable to the retailers.
-
- I thought the latest retirement was very well done. Way to go ty. Also I appreciate that ty is trying to keep the beanies affordable despite the fact that they could ask as much as they want to for them.
-
-
-
- The standard retailers who are selling Erin in excess of the regular price (5.99 to 8.00 range) should be dropped from the Ty list of authorized resellers.
-
i wish i could find more for $7 or less
- I would like to see TY make a peacock, buffalo, or goat.
-
- Just like baseball cards, everyone wants to be a dealer and the collecting of beanies by kids will be lost.
-
-
-
- It would be nice if the local stores in our area (Ohio) would put out their inventory sometimes in the evenings instead of always in the mornings or afternoons. It makes it hard on us working moms to purchase hard to find beanies by continuing this practice. The same people are getting the hard to aquire beanies. Come on...please give us working moms a chance too!!!
-
-
-
- None
- have heard that people in my area can get erin & princess for $6. but i don't know where. I've only seen them for in the hundreds, that's tooooo expensive for me.
-
-
-
-
- I am very unhappy with the retailer that are back door selling of the erin bear... they are selling to second market places or to friends only...or they say they didn't come in... how can a store never recieve any erin bears???
-
- Hi! I am from Canada. I hate the prices for Beanie Babies here. The
Cheapest I can get them is $10.49!
-
- I wish people who give us kids a chance to get the better beanies we want them just to play with they wait until they go retired and sell it really expensive.
-
- I dislike the "Short Term Greed" of the retailers. I still do not have Erin!!! I am still looking for the $5 Peace! I produce a monthly show and very much enjoy all aspects of the Beanie Phenomenon! I have three favs, though I said Princess. I am British and Irish and I love my Brit! I am always looking for the ones I do not have so anyone could be my next purchase.
-
The markets seem to be flooded now, which makes me lose my interest. Last fall, I found a store which had bins of them. Since then, I lost my interest and buy occasionally Thanks!
-
-
- My children and i love beanies, we started collecting before the hit big, now are starting to get disgusted because of having a hard time getting, and touble getting the most popular...Princess, Peace..Erin, we have collected for almost 2 years, have searched now for almost a year for peace..at the normal going price and can't get our hand on one unless i want to spend my life saving, its beginning to make us NOT want to collect anymore. Thank you
- My daughter is an animal lover and LOVES her beanie babies! They're inexpensive and cute. I don't like the fact that on current releases retailers try and sell them for at least twice what TY had meant them to be sold, the children who love and cherish their beanies are the ones who are suffering. M y daughter has slither the snake (paid $5) and I wouldn't get rid of it for anything! She would be devistated!
-
-
- I like them due to the fact that I can have a set for myself and at the same time save a set for my son to help towards his college fund.
I dislike the people whom go to the dealers and are allowed to buy at
5.99 and then sell in their stores for an astronomical amount of money.
-
-
- i enjoy collecting Beanies for myself and family. I get rather angered when I am unable to buy a new beanie at a reasonable price, but see tons of people selling many of that same Beaniea at such a ridiculously high price. It just doesn't seem very fair.
-
-
- I mostly collect the ones I think are cute. I have three retired beanies, but only have bought one when it was retired (weenie-$10) I am only 13 years old, but love these creatures. They should make a wolf or coyote beanie baby. Beanies rule!!!!
-
- I would love to see a TY rep come to Northern Philly and drop retailers that are charging an arm and leg for their meant to be cheap
BBabies!! Lots are going out the back door too. I search by foot and phone daily, Have NEVER seen a princess under 75, NEVER, ever seen an ERIN. One retailer, Fredericks Gifts, did sell princess for 5.95 but waited until near closing to put out and convieniently sold out before closing, PLANNED?? and then bragged they sold her for 5.99, scammers in Bucks, Montgomery co. Would like to mention School House Sweets and the Pansy Shops for a GOOD JOB!!!! Lisa
-
-
- I think that Twigs will retire soon and ty should make a snail called slimy.
-
-
-
-
- Some adults should learn manners when dealing with their fellow collectors and just have fun in the hunt for the beanies, not the kill.
-
-
- Every one I know has heard of Beanies, even some of the men I work with collect them although they have a tough time admitting it, but they know which one I mean when I name one. And on when they know that I'll be out on a Beanie Quest they say "pick one up for me, I mean my daughter is collecting them and since your going anyway". They can't fool me, Beanie Babies have captured the hearts of everyone.
I don't like the way the secondary is trying to make such large profits on them, I realize that everyone has to make a living, but come on, charging $10 and up is way out of line. I collect them because I like them and my grandchildren adore them, I don't want to be ripped off.
I hope they last a long time. I'd hate to see them go the way of the Cabbage Patch. But, I guess that this too shall pass.
-
- I like that this popular toy is a non-violent, non- sexist one that everyone enjoys (e.g., boys, girls, kids, adults). It's well-made, well-designed, and inexpensive. I like that they appreciate in value, but I don't like how quickly they appreciate--it makes for some crazy-acting people!
- Unfortunately these cute child toys have brought out the ugly greedy side of people. Also I don't think much of ty limiting the Princess and others ... they definately add fuel to the fire.
- I FIND IT VERY HARD TO GET BEANIES AT LOCAL BUSINESSES BECAUSE THEY START SELLING THEM AT 10:00 AM DURING THE WEEK AND ARE SOLD OUT BY THE TIME I GET OUT OF WORK SO I ONLY HAVE THE LEFT OVERS TO BUY IF I DONT ALREADY HAVE THEM.
- I'm concerned about the counterfeiting.
How about mor bugs? Preying mantis, beetle, dragonfly, moth.
-
-
- Insane. How can something that has 60K + made of it before retirement be worth anything in the future if everyone is keeping them mint?
- I think that it is completely ridiculous for beanie babies to sell for more than 10 dollars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They are just tiny stuffed animals with beans in them! They are NOT worth thousands, or hundreds of dollars!!!
-
- after i purchased princess from a florist for $125.00 and then 2 weeks later i bought 2 from zany brainy for 4.95 each i realized then that i would never pay more than 6.00 for any beanie that isn't retired.
-
- The beanie baby craze is GREAT!
-
- I love my Beanies, but it is so hard to get all the ones you want. I have purchased them for my grandchildren and daughters and for myself and it was very hard to get the ones needed for each collection. I really love them all, but like the tie-dyed versions best, like Peace, Garcia, Claude and Iggy. I enjoy all the pretty colored fabrics that they are made out of and their cute faces. I do wish they were somewhat easier to get! What I don't like is the way some stores display these lovely Beanies. You
see them in heaps on the floor and thrown in piles on shelves. They can't stay in good condition handled like that. I think the phenomenon will last as long as the company keeps making the pretty, little animals. We need to be able to buy the new ones a bit more easier. Thanks for listening!
-
I need more money. This hobby is too expensive! I saved up $2300 for the jade bear.......!!!!!1
- I wish all beanies even old retierds were $5.00!!!
-
- I think Mr. Ty should stop trying to control the retailers, and the secondary market... He has a good thing going and he is going to end up messing it up. So people are making money, so is he. Most important everyone is having Fun. Without the secondary market Mr. Ty would not be as popular..... the main plush line is not that great, except the attic colection. Ty locked me out of the guest book because I listed Erin and Princess for $85.00. I also answered back to 11 postings where kids were asking fo
the bears and sold 9 of them for $6.00 ea. Sure I make a buck on the secondary market, but I also give in return. I have fun, and everyone involved in this for the most part is havng fun...... Thanks
-
-
-
-
- Other than gifts I have to earn money to buy beanie babies and I can't afford to pay high prices.
- I would like to see Ty release some new Beanie Babies soon, especially dinosaurs.
-
- I really wish that every store that selld Beanie Babies would sell them for only $4.99. In California, at the local malls people are selling them for around $20.00. I think that is crazy. I feel sorry for anyone who thinks that that is a good deal. Also, I would like to know what TY is going to make next. But, even with all of the people out there who are trying to get every nickel out of people, collecting is fun.
- Buying ones that you don't like. You buy for the heck of it!!!
- I haven't had this much fun in years. Having two small children this
is something the whole family can enjoy.
-
- Secondary market prices are way to high.
-
I think Beanie Babies are cute and they are cuddly and fun to collect!
- Where are my dentures?
-
I am sad to say this, but I think that the secondary market is hurting the value of newer Beanies. They sell the new ones for outragous prices and then the value goes down within the month. The new Jan. Beanies were being sold for $30-$50. Now they are being sold for $10. This kind of price gouging is ruining the Beanie experience for collectors. I can't even imangine the chaos that McDonalds will be.
-
i think ty should ship what the retailers order in a timly fashion
-
I LOVE TO COLLECT BEANIE BABIES THEY ARE SO CUTE AND IT IS LIKE A GAME WHO CAN GET THEM BEFORE THEY RETIRE BUT FOR ME SINCE I STARTED LATE IT IS HARD TO KEEP TRACK OF WHAT I NEED .....
-
I traded my libearty for princess and rainbow. beanies are cute and i am going to get clubby
-
- IAM VERY DISAPOINTED THAT TY HAS NOT MADE PRINCESS MORE AVAILABLE AS I UNDERSTOOD IN THE BEGINNING. ALSO, ERIN. EVERYONE CAN'T PAY LARGE SUMS FOR THESE.
- They need a seagull named Gullie
-
- I wish beanies like Princess and Erin would be more availabel at the$5- $6 range for those who would like one just to collect not for resale - especilly since the Princess is to be for charity - the high prices for those on small budgets that would like to contribute to a worthwhile charity is crazy.
- I think that the whole beanie craze will die down very soon. They will only be as popular as the demand- and the demand is slowly-but-shurly going down. I think that the TY company is retiring more and more because they want to make the collection smaller and easier to find. I also think it is dumb how people are paying over $1,000 for a beanie. Beanies were designed for kids, and I think that adults are taking all the fun and excitement out of them. And adults are more crazed about these things then c
ildren.
-
- I don't think retailers should be alowed to sell beanies that are not retired for any more that $5.99
-
- How long can this possibly last. A lot of people are going to get stuck. Retailers selling Princess & Erin for exponential amounts is disgusting when they only pay 2.50 like all the others. There should be some limit for them.
-
- I love the Beanie Babies, because they are cute, cheap and hard to find. I love the fact that there are magazines and web sites explaining them.
-
- Would love to see retailers lose their account with TY for selling their stock (especially Princess and Erin) by the BAG on e-bay. Surely these could be sold locally. I have been in line to buy beanies as the store owner is selling CASES of beanies to a well known secondary dealer. The public was limited to 6 beanies total... the secondary dealer walked out with cases. I have not done business with that dealer again, and never will.
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
Ilike the fact that there is such a cute toy at a reasonable price {In most places}. I enjoy collecting them as gifts for family, friends, and children who need a toy {Toys for Tots, etc.}
-
- I think that the Ty authorized dealers should be restricted as to what they can charge customers for the beanies.
- Retailers should have their accounts discontinued if they are selling BB's for more than the suggested retail price. No one should be selling Erin or Princess for more than the regular price. This does not include the secondary market. I wonder if packing slips could be posted? I have knowledge of some retailers who are holding back the hard to find bears and claiming they don't have them, when they do. I had a retailer tell me straight out, that every Peace Bear he gets he sells to a trader/buyer
in South Carolina, that gives him $20.00 per bear. That is why he never has the bears. And on a final note, I hope the MacDonald's promotion this May, goes better than the last one!!
-
- I am getting tired of hearing about all the pressure on retailers. Since the secondary market is driving the values, the retailers can price accordingly.
-
I don't like when small retailers sell new beanies at outragous prices which are suppose to be $5.00 and $6.00 dollars,
- Really disappointing that a child's toy (my kids do play with them)
has turned into a circus (a shame someone has to always make a buck).
It seem TY encourges this ... just look at their website.
- I collect BB's for my self ,but I think their priced way too high if children like to play with them. They should think of children too.
- I REALIZE THAT TY IS A FOR-PROFIT BUSINESS, HOWEVER, ONCE THEY DECIDED TO MAKE THE PRINCESS BEAR, THE SHOULD HAVE REALIZED IT WOULD BE A BIG SELLER. IT SEEMS THAT THE ONLY WAY TO PURCHASE IT NOW IS THROUGH THE SECONDARY MARKET, AND NONE OF THIS OUTRAGEOUS MONEY IS MAKING ITS WAY TO CHARITY, FOR SURE!!!!!! IF TY WAS GOING TO DO IT, DO IT IN A BIG WAY--THAT'S A REAL CHARITABLE EFFORT, AND CUSTOMERS WOULD BE MORE LIKELY TO BUY AT A MODEST PRICE, OR EVEN A REASONABLE $10-20, KNOWING THAT THE PRINCESS DI
HARITIES WOULD PROFIT, AND NOT THE SECONDARY MARKET VULTURES!!!!!
-
- Some people don't like adults buying Beanies, but if it wasn't for my mom I wouldn't have gotten Erin and Princess. If adults buy beanies and don't resell them i think it's fine.
-
My daughter got her first beanie baby several years ago - who knew they would become such a hot item!! Now I enjoy the hunt for those we need, however I really don't look for them as much as many others do, but we are having fun with it!! We'll be watching for new ones (as well as the ones we don't have yet - we had 26 of the may 98 retires!)
=-)
-
-
-
- Dislike not being able to find Princess or Erin for retail. Drives me CRAZY!!!!
-
- Wish beanies weren't so hard to find. Hallmark's now not allowed to tell anything other than if they have any beanies. People complain too much. Be happy and don't be greedy.
-
-
-
- Their are 2 things I hate 1 I hate it when grown-ups will push children out of the way just to get the beanie they want. and 2 I hate it when stores will charge outrages prices for different beanies I mean all they are is a bag of beans.
-
- I hate seeing current beanies in our local newspapers for 3 or 4 times what they are worth! It's sick to think some people go stand in line with all these little kids around them, who are so excited to get a new beanie and these people get in before the kids and buy bags full of beanies and then go and sell them and the poor kids are left with nothing. It's just sad. Then to make it worst other people beleive the only way to get any beanies is to buy them for the outragious prices, and that isn't nessa
y. I've been collecting since December of 1996, the most I've paid is about $10 (and $4 of that went to a charity) The oldest one I have is Tabasco (and the rest of that group that retired with it) I also got a Peace and Princess bear for $6 during the time they were in the paper for $75 to $200. Now all I need is Erin and I plan to just wait like I did with Peace and Princess and I will get one for the normal price!
-
-
- I am sick of being made to feel belittled by store owners when I ask them if they have beanies. I am also sick of people who are trying to cash in on Ty Warner's success by hoarding all of the beanie babies sold in stores for reasonable prices and then reselling them for many times their value. This makes it nearly impossible for a working woman like me to find beanies and purchase them at a reasonable price.
-
-
- I love all the beanies. My problem is not finding out in enough time to 1. go buy them; 2. my local stores being out of what I want; and 3. not being able to get enough timely information. I rarely have time to log onto this site.
- We have met so many new friends and good people!
-
-
-
- I think it is awful what collectors have done with the Princess Bear. I should have been an item to remember Princess Diana and not be sold at the ridiculous price. My grand-daughter would like one because it represented Princess Diana, not because of the value. She is 11 years old and really liked Princess Diana. She is not a big collector. She just gets them when they are available (which is not very often because of the collectors).
Thank You
Marian Wisbar
- When we stop having fun it is time to stop.
- I love collecting them. I really hate the the distributors are selling their whole stock to the secondary market. Leaving none on the shelves for my 8 year old daughter to buy with her own allowance money.
- I don't like the secondary market or the authorized dealers that sell the beanies for an increased price. They also use the hard to find beanies,Erin,Princess, Peace, as a prize for buying alot of stuff from their stores. it makes it hard for us kids to get the ones we want or need to complete our collection.
- I feel that only the new Erin and Princess bears have really been too high priced. They have NEVER been available at retail stores - the employees take them or they are sold to secondary dealers before even being put on the shelf. I don't mind if dealers buy them... but they should have to stand in line just like everyone else! If stores are not going to offer Erin and Princess to the general public, only those who can pay upwards of $100 will ever get one. Everyone should be given the same chance to s
and in line to buy Erin and Princess
- I do not like the stores just dumping the bears in a bin and letting people buy as many as they want. It should be one to a customer. Also here in Canada, some place make you buy 10 new beanies in order to purchase Princess, Erin, Maple or Peace. Just a way of making money, especially to those of us who just would like to have one for our collection. Also I found it to be a great way to make get to know people, what an ice braker when shopping.
- I think they should recreate the "old" retirees just for six months that everyone would get a chance to own their very or Flutter or Web.
- I love how cute these little guys are, but I hate to see all the greediness they spawn. They ARE toys, kids can't really afford them!
- I would hope that all retailers would commit to fair practices & put out all the beanies, my daughter who is 4 wants "the purple bear" & she doesn't understand why I can't get her one!! And she DOES NOT let me keep the tags on hers either, so I guess they will remain her toys forever!
- The only disappointment to the Beanie Craze is that the kids who like to purchase them with their allowance money infrequently get to the one's they want because the adults have scoffed them up. It relegates me to going and joining the mob at Hallmark's etc. to try to grab one (many times this is the limit) and I have three kids. I wouldn't pay more than $5-6 for one and I think that the retailer's who have a Beanie Acct and mark them way above the going rate should be dropped.
- The secondary market is fine, but when retailers are selling directly into the secondary market, there is no chance for children or private collectors. I keep saying that I will sell some of mine, but I can't ever part with them. It seems unfair that the ONLY way to purchase Princess and Erin is for hundreds. I went into a store that put their Erins on sale for $200 each. That isn't right.
- The Princes bear is not being sold as intended. I don't understand how retailers are getting away with selling her for so much money. I also don't understand how Erin increased in value even before he was shipped. My son has not been able to purchase any bears and I won't purchase any bears because they are too expensive and that includes Peace. The fun of collecting beanie babies for children and children collecting beanie babies for themselves is that they were at one time an affordable collectab
e. The kids used their allowance to get the beanie baby they wanted. That's not always true today.
My son and I get the biggest thrill looking for beanie babies for $5.00. That is our goal on beanie runs. We pay more only for retireds and never more than $25.00. That is a challenge but it's a great lesson in scavenging for thrift for my son
- My only complaint is when the secondary market get new beanies before they ever get to the regular retailer. Seems backwards to me! Thanks
-
-
I collect Beanies for myself and 5 children, and can no longer purchase Beanies at a reasonable price.I have got to the counter to check out only to be told the cost was 10.00 or more and had to have the children to put them back!WHAT A BUMMER.
-

- I think that TY shold have a limit on how much the retailers can sell the beanies for! I have tried to get certain ones and it is sicking on the prices on the stuffed animals.
-
- I think retailers should limit the amount people can purchase to give everyone a chance to get the new beanies when they start coming out.
- I think Beanie Babies should be affordable to the children that they were originally intended for and when I see secondary marketers price gauging and articles published encouraging this same tactic it makes me angry.
-
- The hunt for the beanies has been a great fun! It is frustrating that newly released beanies are sooo expensive.
- I am a college student and don't think that it is very fair for authorized dealers to sell to raise the prices of beanies an outragous amounts nor to make special deals with secondary market dealers. This makes it very difficult to get ahold of certain beanies. It makes it difficult for those of us who collect beanies for fun and not for profit. I don't have to money to spend a hundred dollars on beanies, and neither do little kids whom may I remind everyone that there were originally for.
-
- I collect coins too but Beanie Babies are so darn cute!!
- Prices are way out of reach!!! Dealers are squeezing way to much money out of us. I hope people start protesting so TY will make tighter restrictions on those dealers who are stealing up blind.
- I think it's sad when people buy Beanies at Ty prices then turn around and try and steal money from those who are honestly trying to collect for their children's future..it reminds me of a ticket scallper..they should be penalized not us!!!
-
-
- I started buying Beanies as special treats for my children, but kids cannot afford to buy them now. I wish that people weren't so greedy when selling new Beanies, children don't have a chance to buy them and it's disappointing to them.
-
- Ty Warner is a genius...The next Bill Gates
- Although I tell myself I am buying them as an investment, I have not yet sold or traded one and don't imagine I will. I have always had a slew of teddy bears and always felt they were too darn expensive. Now I buy beanies (all execpt 3, I paid under $10 for). It seems like a natural progression. My favorite thing to do though is to talk my friends and family into buying them. My boyfriend says I won't be happy until every one I know is hooked (I even got him to buy 2)!
- I love collecting beanies. They are the cuites thing going. I don't like the retailers who require you to purchase their merchandise before they will allow you to purchase a beanie. Especially when the purchase amount must be in the 125 to 200 dollar range.
- I hope it continues, it's an affordable collection for anyone. I dislike not being able to get Maple and Britannia. I dislike the long lines at stores when a shipment arrives.
-
- I feel a bit silly for putting down the stuffed phenomenon for the last 2 years, only to have been caught up in the adorable craze myself. I'm a very practical woman, never buying into hype. Look at me now, i'm one of many, and don't see myself slowing down until you've put an end to it. I even have my husband hooked and he loves it. Thank you and think of a Seahorse for the future. maria diaz(pemboke pines, fla.)
-
- I don't like the fact that this phenomenon has gotten so big that Ty has closed accounts of some of it's best retailors. There is a store in Lafayette, In. where I used to shop for Beanies regularly, and all of the sudden, Ty stopped shipping to them. It was a shame because Golstone Jewelry was probably the best retailoe fo Ty in the whole city. There are more than 20 businesses that sell Ty products, and no one did more about promoting ty products than Goldstone. They were always well informed, an
never did anything unethical. They were very upset whan they called Ty to see why they hadn't recieved a shipment in about 6 weeks, when ty told them that their account had been cancelled. Ty never even told them until they called. That was Wrong!
-
- I get real aggrivated when retail stores charge more than $6.00.
- Would like to see them made more available to the general public. I hate to go places where you have to wait in line for a number. This is usually when stores announce the will have beanies available on certain days. I'd rather see stores put them out just as they do other merchandise.
- Make Beanies more excessable to children, stop TY Retailers from starting Beanies out at more than there value.
- I love Beanies!!!! Ty Warner needs to make MORE CAT BEANIES!!!!!!
- I think Ty has created a monster by playing games with the retailers on how the bb's are sold!! Therefore the after market has just gone nuts!!!
- I love Beanie Babies an I hope they stay forever!

I truly enjoy collecting beanies, it is as much fun for me as it is for my kids. We love to go shopping and find ones we don't have to add to our collection!
