- I don't like the fact that regular retailers are getting away with selling Beanies at over- blown prices!!!
- I think this beanie thing is crazy - I love it. :)
- i think snort, peace, dotty, seaweed, and sly are likely to retire
- nothing you don't already know
- I HAVE HAD A LOT OF FUN TRACKING DOWN BEANIES AND MEETING LOTS OF NICE PEOPLE. IT STILL AMAZES ME HOW BIG A SMILE A BEANIE CAN BRING
- I DON'T LIKE HOW STORES SELL BEANIE BABIES FOR WAY MORE THANTHEY SHOULD. THEY SHOULD ALL BE SOLD FOR $5.99
- It is just pure fun!
- love reading the poems
- I dislike the fact the states get the new beanie babies before us Canadians. And we do get them they have already increased in price.
- BEANIES ROCK!
- dislike 2ndary market jacking up the price. Beanies should be toys and toys are meant for kids(& adults) to be albe to afford to buy them.
- Beanie Babies are soo cute....i just dislike on how are some are to find....they should make a chiuachua beanie baby.
- This is definitely an addictive hobby - but they're just soooo cute!
-
- I dislike having to buy 7 in order to get one special one for example to purchase Princess I had to buy 7 others. I also am annoyed it is VERY DIFFICULT to find Wise unless I am willing to pay $40 cdn for him.
- I guess I like the chase. I have collected Hallmark ornies for years and a few other items. This one is special in the way the Ty Company has made it such an ordeal....but it must be some kind of fun :) It has brought me close to a few new friends. I think most people that collect Beanies are good people.....like pet owners. Special. I predict some more elusive bears & those seem to be the most sought after by most people I have met. I do wish the stores wouldn't up the prices on the bears though espec
ally when they have first come out.
- older people need to relax and have fun with this collection not gripe all the time, before it go's away. I love my collection if I can't get the older retires, I can't get them. I'm not going to cry about it. The secondary market is keeping it alive. If it wasn't for them their would be no conventions. Thanks for listing Roxanne Deltona,Fl.
- don't like the secondary market and Home shopping to be selling them beffore they are availsble in stores, this summer has been a real turn-off. secondary should be getting them 2nd! I've considered quiting if this continues and alot of my friends feel the same way!
- Oh my, I think I'm stuck in beanie pergatorie! Sometimes it's heaven, when I get a great deal & find one I've been missing :-) ; then there are times when it's he_ _ because I can't afford the ones I'm missing. :-( But I love them anyway!
- I am about to the point of not collecting anymore or letting my kids collect due to the greed of retailers.
- I think Wise will retire January 1, 1999, because his hat is dated "class of '98". '97 Teddy retired at the beginning of 1998, so I assume Wise will too. (and I got him for $5.99!!)
- TAKES WAY TO LONG TO FIND THE NEW ONES. THEY HAVE BEEN OUT SINCE JUNE , THIS IS SEPT 8, AND I STILL DON'T HAVE ANY.
- Dislike the fact that I am unable to find Glory. How come dealers claim they didn't receive any
- order sheets by ty, so families can order ty beanies dirrect
- I dislike the high prices i am a kid and just want them to play with tag or no tag
- Beanies are adorable and used to affordable little toy that the children could collect, we could afford to buy when we went shopping as a special just because you are special treat. The secondary market has ruined it for those of us who just want to buy an affordable toy for the children, that is non-violent and that they can use their imagination to ppplay with. My Granddaughters line them up all in a row and sing to them, play school with them and the list can go on and on. They are a great toy for t
e children. Come on Grownups.lets stop ruining it for the children!
- I think that the fun of Beanie hunting has gone. It is a fun thing we did with the great grandchildren, but now the greed of many has taken over and we cannot find the new ones at affordable prices. Being on a fixed income limits the special things you can do and buy for the special childrenin your life and its a crying shame that a few have ruined it for so many.
- I think its a sad day when Moms and Grandmas can't afford to buy a toy made for children as a special treat for the kids. The greed of some has taken over and ruined a fun hobby for children. I know how dissapointed the children are when if you can find a new one the retailer has a high price put on it, or they are sold out to secondary marketeers(racketeers is more what they are).I refuse to buy from a secondary market person and we GRANDMAS would unite maybe we could STOP THE MADNESS and put the seco
dary people out of business. Then the children could again have a hobby they can afford.
- I think its terrible that us kids can't buy them because the adults are greedy and buy them all for themselves
- They sucked me in! I tried to avoid them, but they were stronger! And now they even captured my husband! ;-)
- I love collecting beanie babies, and I don't even mind the lines so much. Often I have a really good time in beanie baby lines getting to know other people and sharing the latest rumors about beanie babies. But I really hate it when people take the fun out of the beanie baby line by trying to cut in, grabbing from others, pushing, etc. It can be a really fun thing, and it should be fun.
- Love the tie-dye variations-it keeps the collection constantly active to find new color combinations. I started collecting beanies for my 7 year old son, but collect Claude and Iggy for myself.
-
- Beanies are so sweet! They will be continue to be collectible for a loooong time because people just LOVE them!!
- I am always looking for awards for my child's good grades and beanies are perfect!
- buying beany babies from such places as libraries is best due to the fact that they sell at exactly $5, no tax
- no bears will retire!!!... the email from a TY WARNER ASSOCIATE is at http://www.idir.net/~bfprusia/CoolBeanie/latest
- Funniest thing I saw was an obvious "biker" guy picking out beanies to buy. Has this thing come a long way or what???
- I'd like to see them more readily available.
- no
- I don't like the prices of the Beanie Bbies. BEANIE BABIES ARE CUTE!
- I think it's really great and a lot of fun. :-}
- Beanies Rule
- I think that this trend is here to stay for a while
- I put Manny as my favorite but I'm started too late to get him. He is way too expensive. I do not think that Ty should ever retire any beanie that in real life is an endangered speecies. They need to stay in front of the public so they can stay aware. I'm talking about Beanies of which are currently in existance that we as caring citizens can help to do something about.
- put counterfeiting in your website beanieplace!
- i think it is very unfair the way some of the dealers are selling the new beanies. the first people that get there, get as many as they want. for us poor people who have to go to work every day we don't have a chance. the wifes whose husbands drive for ups call everyone they know the minute their husbands call and tell them where they are going to deliver next.
- I hope more BB/TBB are to come!!!
- Id like to know what stores sell beanies in my area
- I LOVE BEANIES!!!!!!!!1
- Would like to see ferret Beanie Baby
- I don't like the fact that retailers are getting 40.00 for a brand new beanie baby Wise the Owl before it is retired!
- TY 1st hand dealers are getting way out of hand on their prices, my children get so disappointed because I will not pay the big prices!
- Beanies are awesome!
- Stores that over-price should be dropped immediately and should be controlled much more.
- Please visit http://www.internetjump.com
- dislike-way retired BBs go up in price
- I LOVE BEANIES!!!!
- I think Beanies are great! I started late (spring of 1998) so I have had a lot of catching up to do. The secondary market is the only way that I have been able to do this, so in that way its good. But as with all things there are good secondary market dealers and bad. To the good ones out there, keep up the good work, you are appreciated. To the bad ones, every dog has its day, and you will too!
- I think they should make a porqupine/ Erin is who we are looking for!!
- THEY ARE THE HARDEST LITTLE CRITTER TO BUY i HAVE EVER SEEN.
- I LOVE BEANIE BABIES THEY MAKE ME FEEL BETTER WHEN I AM NOT IN A GOOD MODE
- I love them all, I am basically collecting them to leave to my grandchildren.
- Ty will flood the market bringing down value of market for collecrtors out to make money one them.
- I love Beanie Babies and I just want to say: Thank you Ty Warner!!!
- I this that some of the secondary dealers are just taking advange of the fad and trying to make to much profit off the beanie babbies. THey are great and wonderful, but they are retired to soon and some tiem we do not ahve time or can not find them.
- I've been amazed at the prices new & retired beanies are selling for. I'm wondering how long this will continue. Alot of the people that I know that collect beanies are wondering if it's time to sell, before the prices drop to nothing. I've also had the experience, when selling some of my beanies (Duplicates mostly) that people know how much they are selling for, but expect me to sell them for MUCH less because I'm not a retailer. Why should they expect that since I bought them, held on to them in mint
condition (sometimes for years) that I should re-sell them for 5.99? I just don't understand. Do people who buy on the secondary market really pay hundreds for mint retired beanies?
- I think it's really unfair that the retailers started off charging $100. plus, for Glory, when he first came out, and now I could buy him for $50. I should have waited. He might go even lower. I'm upset. My only hope is that he will eventually go back up in value. Maybe one day, when he is retired? From, Patty
- I want Erin for a reasonable price.
- i think they should bring out more bears
- I NEED ALL THE BEARS
- Princess will retire on the 1 year anniversary of her death!
- I have been looking everywhere for Sherbert the Pillow Pal Bear. I can't find him anywhere. I wish Ty would hurry and make more!
- No
- I think there should be a Beanie Baby Angelfish. Or even a Beanie Baby SeaStar
- IT HAS GOTTEN OUT OF CONTROL FOR THE AVERAGE KID TO AFFORD
- there r 2 many lil bitchy trendy grl goin crazy ova em..it makes me look bad!!!!!
- i have lefty only the flag is on the right does that make him more valueble????? please include when you next up- date your web site!!!!.....??? thank you!!!
- I think the older retired beanie babies should be more avalible.
- I think the beanie baby craze iis rediculous. I basically just buy beanies at 2nd hand stores or flea markets to resale.
- I really hate that Ty dealers sell their products out the back door to the secondary market. Then the secondary market sets whatever price they KNOW people will pay. It's unfair to real collectors!
- I think that there is a place for secondary dealers (supply/demand) BUT I don't think that retailers should sell out to these dealers before allowing the public to purchase their stock at 5.00-7.00. I think there should be a 2 per person daily limit per style (new) and 1 per person for bears (to be handled via a lottery if supply is too low). I love the animals personally and think they're absolutely precious. Yes, I want to make a profit from some (mainly to subsidize my collection) but only $1-5 p
r animal until it appreciates. I like the beanie auctions. I think there should be store raffles for kids and contests to win a COMPLETE set of beanies.
- LIKE TRACKER
- Beanies Are AWESOME
- dislike how greedy it has made people in that they only want for themselves and not for the other guy. do not like the secondary market at all!!!!!! or the Hallmark Card Shops (greedy bunch)
- I think each and every one of the beanies are adorable. I really enjoy the thrill of the hunt!! But I do not enjoy greedy secondary market people.
- only had 5 three weeks ago, now verrrry hooked
- sure would be nice if you would put out some of the old retired beanies
- My 2 year old daughter loves positioning all 100+ beanies around her and reading animal picture books to them, matching up the beanie baby to the pictured animal. We love the cute beanies... and find them to be a learning guide as well as an always-availiable friend.
- TY is holding back on the May releases..they are hard to find!!!
- Trends, production and retirement is strictly up to TY - they control the market - supply and demand. What a deal.
- What started out as a game between friends snowballed into a full blown mega-hobby
- I think Ty needs to wake up and do something about the retailers that are charging outrageous prices for the bears. Beanie hunting used to be fun, but now you don't only have to find them, you have to find them at a price thats affordable. The problem isn't the secondary market, its the retailers and that is something Ty could control if they so choose. Ty stopped selling to the only store in my immediate area that actually sold all of their beanies for $6.98(bears and recent retireds) because it was
't a fancy gift shop but they are still selling a store that is giving out a wooden nickel for every $25.00 you spend in their store and when you accumulate ten(wooden nickels) of them then you can buy Erin or Glory for $6.00. That's $250.00 you have to spend in their store before you can buy a bear. I really hope that Ty takes control of their retailers before I lose all interest in their beanies.
- Just wish that I got into the Beanie Baby rush sooner
- Not enough new ones hitting the stores plenty of old ones no new ones.
- Would like beard so be more readily available without going to the secondary market for them!!
- It's an exhausting hobby, but I love it.
- Chocolate is the last of the current "original nine" get him while you still can!
- Collecting Beanies is way too much fun!
- Beanies are for children - keep the prices down!
- no
- I like beanie babies for children, something they can collect. I really hate the way the adults have ruined it for the kids in being soooooo greedy..........buying up at retail stores and selling them at outrageous prices, almost knocking kids over to grab a toy (beanie) , grabbing them out of kids hands, never having a chance to even get one (usually the bears) because the supply is soo limited........etc..... I have seen a couple retail stores sell the new bears at 25.00 to 50.00 or more......wha
happened to 5-7 $$, I myself have a few bears but now have for myself to collect other bears more available and if I happen upon a beanie my older daughter doesn't have I will get it for her, but I refuse to pay anything higher than 5-7$$ for a $2.50 toy!!!! Sorry but I'm kinda sick of the whole beanie mess........very cute product though!
- Beanie babies are so cute!!!! I like the new releases a lot, but they weren't listed on this survey!
- I really HATE the high prices on beanies! I mean, I REALLY want Humphrey, and I'll have to wait untill I can save $2000, or nobody likes Beanies anymore. I also want other retired ones, which all have too high prices. NOBODY has a kind enough heart to sell their old retired BB like Humphrey, to a kid for $5-$20. What is this world coming to? THESE ARE KIDS TOYS!!! And they expect us to buy beanies for thousands of dollars????? YEA RIGHT!!!!
- I am tired of going to a store and finding out scarce beanies were sold within the first 15 min after they arrived if they even make it to the shelves at all.
- Would love to see them make a cardinal
- I think Ty Retailers should sell currents and new ones for $5-$7 only!!! I am sick of going in stores and seeing current and new beanies for $20-$100
- There is a sucker born every minute
- We have a family collection with just a few duplicates - the kids love them and we have a lot of fun with it - Our favorite is actually Glory - but he is not on the list/
- i love beanie babies
- I tink that the secondary market is WAY too greedy. I suggest that people try, if at all possible, avoid buying from secondary market dealers.
- I wish that the adults would remember that these are children's toys and let the kids get them first.
- I like finding beanies at a reasonable price, but I hate buying counterfeits. Most of the May 97 retireds have all been remade and sold on the secondary market and quite a few people have been upset about that like me. I buy and resale retired beanies and have came across many counterfiets. I have watch others buy them as well. I saw a bogus Grunt go for 142 dollars in a show which would have otherwise been a great deal. I wish some of the people making the bogus beanies would stop it before this
hole business goes downhill. Im sure that making these bogus beanies are quite profitable and I can see why they reproduce them but it is wrong so if one of you guy that make these fake ones are reading this please understand what you are doing to this market and that you will tremendously affect it soon by making fakes. I purchased a fake Tie-Die lizzy for 7$ just to keep and show others, but there are so many more like this. BUYER BEWARE BUYER BEWARE!!!! you too will come across these fakes so keep yo
r eyes peeled O.K.?
- Predict beanie babies will continue to thrive.
- I think it brings families together, I collect them with my son and it gives us something to keep communication open for other issues too.
- My husband, my 14 year old son and I started collecting beanies this summer and we have all enjoyed the experience. It has brought out the 'child' in us all. I hope to pass then down to my grandchildren some day. I just wish it were not so difficult to purchase the new popular ones such as Glory and Fortune. I will NOT pay $80- $100 on the secondary market for these new beanies. If the secondary market people would stop raiding the stores, then maybe I would be able to get one of each for my colle
tion. It is impossible to find Glory or Fortune in South Jersey - why is that? But all in all, the beanie craze is just plain fun around my house. We all love stuffed animals (and real ones too!) and we're enjoying them immensely. Thank you. -Sandy in NJ
- I think Curly and Princess will retire in 1998!!!
- My husband, my 14 year old son and I started collecting beanies this summer and we have all enjoyed the experience. It has brought out the 'child' in us all. - Some sellers ar making you buy large amounts of the currents to be able to purchase l new one or the bears. which is very unfortunate for people who already have them and my children can't afford to buy that way which is a very big dislike
- I would like to see ALL secondary dealers put an end to outrageous prices. I am only 14 and have a limited budget. I wish TY would send every and all beanies out day after day so EVERY single beanie is on a store shelve.
- I FINALY UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE COLLECT OTHER THINGS BUT I LOVE THE BEANIES
- I work full time and have a hard time getting the new ones
- People are starting to get ugly about their ways of collecting and I am getting turned off by the whole thing. This phenom truly brings out the WORST in human behavior and it is embarrassing and not something I want my children to see. I am getting so the whole thing turns me off.
- jnch the worm is the bomb biggety and if you dont know you better ax sombody........peace
- trying to find the new beannies babies are hard to find the prices are all different trying to wait sold out when i get there
- I think anyone selling currents (including new ones just out) for more than the current price should have them taken away. This secondary market is getting out of hand. There is a store where I live that has lots of currents, is not a TY dealer and is selling them as secondary market. I think they know someone who gets them from TY and instead of selling them for the $5-7 prices, they are letting this other business sell them as secondary market and making a huge profit. That is not fair. Especial
y when some kids (like my own) are looking for these and doing everything they can to make money to be able to afford these beanies.
- Make them more accessible to drive the secondary dealers out. You are suppose to be able to buy these for your grandchildren and such.
- cant beleive a bag of beans can be worth so much!!
- I love collecting beanie babies but, it seems that the only one gaining anything out of it are the retailers.
- ty needs to losen up and bring more retailers in(honest ones)
- my husband and I have been to the "TYRIFFIC" store in Chicago. We were there for two weekends in a row. they STUNK!!! I will never go back! I thought you could find any beanie baby, and all we saw were the "dime a dozen" ones, which could be found at any store around this country. VERY DISAPPOINTING!!
- I LOVE THESE LITTLE FELLOWS.
- I don't like how some dealers try to cheat people by making the prices really out of reach for younger collecters when there are places that sell them for much, much less.
- more info directly from TY. make retailers honest, check them out without them knowing it. 15
- I don't like how some of the retailers are raising the price of the bear beanies. My mom found Curly & Valentino for me for $5 each and I think that's all retailers should be allowed to charge for them.
- I think Ty beanies should be placed on shelfs when they arrive & not held so you have tostand in line overnight, alos think all ty products should be retail prices including bears
- I think ty should make a ty-dyed ladybug.
- I`m glad Ty Warner had the idea to make Beanie Babies.
- It would be nice if they came out with bears from different countries like they did w/ Brit. For example, Germania, or Italiana. Also I think it would be good if Ty limited the production of a certain beanie. It doesn't have to be a bear, it could be anyone of them. I think it helps to keep people's interest in the collecting of beanies. If we can go out and buy one anytime I want, what is the fun in that? It's the thrill of the chase!
- I think people who pay $50+ for beanies are off their rockers. Current beanies should be sold for less than $30.
- I do not like greedy retailers! My kids enjoy these little creatures and my 10 year old can't afford to pay high prices (neither can I). I want to collect these so my future(!) grandchildren will have a "collectible" to play with and enjoy!
- I hope it lasts forever I love beanies. I think it is slowing down some because of the greed of the authorized dealers charging so much for the htf"s. Its a lot harder now and not as much fun and much more expensive. I think its ok for the secondary market to sell for more but not a ty dealer. I really love beanies.
- It gets out of hand
- I really resent the people that go and buy everything they can get their hands on, so there's nothing left for anyone else. Then they jack the price up on the secondary market. I suspect that alot of the people selling beanies on the internet auctions are actually shop keepers trying to sell the hot items at a higher price (or their relatives who bought the toys for $5 each). And that mess with McConald's - there were people walking around with bags full of the same animal. People are just way too
greedy about this whole thing.
- IT MAKES ME SICK TO SEE BB ON THE SHOPPING CHANNELS GOING FOR HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS. WHEN THEY COULD BE IN STORES BEING SOLD TO CHILDREN!!!!!!
- The main thing I dislike about beanie hunting now is that my daughter and I go to the retailers that we buy our beanies from and they usually do not have any beanies and if they do its the ones that we already have. All the Ty retailers sail out in the mourning and I have to work during the day we still have not been able to get any of the new ones yet but we will wait . The reason I feel people collect beanies is that its something they can invest in and enjoy doing it , face it beanies are so v
ry cute and they people together .
- STINKY, SEAWEED, AND CHOCOLATE ARE OUT OF PRODUCTION!!
- :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)::)::)::)::)::)::)::):::):::):::):::):::)::)::):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)):):):):::):::)::::):::):::)::):)::):):):::):)::
- I wish that authorized dealers were able to acquire beanies more often than when they do and have a better quantity of deliveries.
- "I wanna buy more beanies but i dont have enough money"
- Iam not opposed to the secondary market making a few extra dollars on these beanies, but I do believe it has gotten out of hand in some cases...as usual, a few will spoil it for the majority who just want to make a "little extra" to make ends meet or to get a little extra cash for something new.
- My son and I have had a great time collecting beanie babies though I feel some regulation of some sort should be put on the Ty directors, everytime you find an honest director it seems impossible for them to recieve them. There are so few places that we can even find beanie babies in our own area without driving several miles or contending with the secondary market.I would really hate to see all of this come to an end just because they are not affordable at a fair price, it really does give us a common
nterest, my son is 12 years old.
- they need a hyena, maybe named giggles
- I am curently selling beanie babies to save money for my wedding in the year 2000
- love the hunt and guessing game of who's getting a delivery today
- Retailers requiring "with purchase of $$$ store merchandise other than ty" Let the adults continue to support secondary markets while providing children fair prices.
- I am a Canadian Collector. I am looking forward to more Canadian orientated shows and web sites
- Mu daughter just plays with them but is careful with the tags. I think people who dont allow their kids to touch them are ridiculous. They are for kids let them enjoy it whether your going to make money on it or not.
- I think there might be and new beanie bear called ''Prince'' he will be teal and he will have a crown on his chest.
- I Don't like people following UPS drivers
- I dislike how the secondary market seems to get new beanies BEFORE they can be found at the stores ( if they can be found at all).
- the secondary people are very high
- the secondary people are very high
- Thousands hunting, few beanies in big city stores
- Greedy authorized ty dealers have no ethics!
- having so much fun with the family. Would like ty to keep us quessing on the retirements. Keep putting out new ones and retiring older ones. It is fun to own a beanie worth something.
- I DO NOT LIKE THE PRICES MANY STORES PUT ON HARD TO FIND BEANIES.I THINK ALL BEANIES NO MATTER WHO THEY ARE SHOULD BE IN THE $5-$8 RANGE.THEY WOULD SELL A LOT QUICKER TOO.KIDS COULD ALSO AFFORD THEM.
- I live in a large city and luckily have a large selection of stores that carry beanies to shop at. But, I increasingly find so many beanie shoppers who are so spiteful and really act crazy! I usually find this when standing in line before a store opens, that kind of thing. I think so many people have lost the "joy" in collecting these precious creatures. It is humorous to see how the adults and children practically have a reverse role. The adults are the ones acting like kids! Let's all have fun
ollecting beanies and try to be nice to each other in the process!
- I love beanie babies!
- I dislike greedy beanie snatchers!
- Dislike cagey game retailers play regarding when beanies are arriving or will be avialable at their store. On Friday just before closing time they will say "No beanies today, come Monday." You go early Monday morning just after opening, "Sorry--they are all sold out." It is REALLY annoying!
- Beanie Babies rule!!
- They should have the beanie club in Canada!
- Bears and new releases should be more readily available. I don't like stores that hold "lotteries" for the bears, NTF, new releases.
- Ty should make a miniature schnauzer beanie!
- I think there will be a major bear retirement, since there was none that retired last time.
- I hate dealers who are ty distributors, and sell their beanies way over the 5.99 price. And I hate stores who wont sell to children, weren beanies made for the children to play with and enjoy? what a shame!
- If retailers would put their stock out when they receive it, and not keep it in the back for drawings or ration how many they put out at a time, you would be able to get your collection complete instead of having to partake in drawings, etc.
- yes, as a TY retailer I would like to make a few comments. First of all the FTC has rules and regulations about pricing...Ty can only suggest a price, but they cannot make anyone sell their product for a certain price. Second, we are one of the people that make you buy one old one to buy new ones...we do this to keep the secondary market from clearing the shelves out in 5 minutes, if it wasnt for these rules we set, you would not be able to get your hands on them at all. You have to realize that if t
e merchandise is out for sale we have an obligation to sell to anyone who comes in to buy as long as the product is out for sale to everyone...besides most of you out there taking the survey are making the statement that this is for the children, and your right it is, but when adults get this upset over a stuffed animal...it's turns us into children and the children become the inteligent ones...Just some food for thought!
- they should make a starfish and a seahorse
- Working people don't have a fair chance, we don't get to "hang out" at the malls 10 hrs. a day!!
- I THINK THAT THE LAST BUNCH OF BEANIES ARE REAL COOL.THEY ARE MORE REALISTIC.OF COURSE I LOVE THEM ALL ESPECIALLY THE BEARS.
- UPDATE THIS!!!!!
- It has definately gotten out of control. The retail stores are selling all the bears out the back door. There is no way to get beanies any more unless you stand outside a store for hours and are at the beginning of the line. Its really getting old!
- I do not like going to ebay and seeing 10 glory bears still in the bag from ty. These people are selling them out the back door so collectors like myself have little or no chance of getting only one of the new beanies. It just makes me so mad!
- I think it's great-it's frustrating when you can't find the new releases because you work and they've been sold within an hour of hitting the stores, much harder to find on the secondary market and the price is already jacked up because of limited supplie
- I think all beanie babies should be colorful and have at least 2 colors
- I THINK SOME PEOPLE CHARGE WAYYYYYY TOOOOO MUCH FOR THE BEARS LIKE GLORY ITS ONLY WORTH 15.00 IN THE MARYBETH BOOK AND MOST PLACES CHARGE 100.00 FOR IT. WE SHOULD REEMBER BEANIES WERE INTEND FOR KIDS NOT ADULTS SO I DO NOT KNOW ONE KID THAT GETS 100.00 A WEEK ALLOWANCE COME ON PEOPLE GET A GRIP.

- The phenomenon on beanie babies is crazy and I got pulled into it by my husband. It's fun seeing what will come out next and which ones I can find, but I don't like it when grown people take it so seriously that they are rude and grab beanies right out out of your hand. Let's remember it's fun people!!!! I think the secondary market has become very greedy. Hey and when will Princess bear retire? Thanks
- concerned that the14 new ones are not readily available w/o purchasing a current beanie along w/ it and most of all the fact that the secondary market vendors seen to have ready access to the new ones at excessive prices. I which delivery to beanie were more consistant as the Disney beanies are. I know new shipments are at their stores every Tues and Thurs at 2PM.
- The phenomenon on beanie babies is crazy and I got pulled into it by my husband. I think they should remember it
- Beanie collecting has been a fun thing for me and my daughter to do together. I became hooked first, and now she wants everyone I bring home!! We are a very close knit family and don't need "stuffed animals" to bring us closer...it is just something that is harmless fun that we can do together and for that I am thankful!!
- Beanies were meant for children and should be kept affordable as such, kids can,t afford to pay seconary prices.
- i think all the baers should be retired
- I think Ty should come out with more horses (different kinds)
- I think there should be a distinction made between authorized TY dealers and the secondary market. If TY sells to me in good faith that I will sell the beanies at a reasonable, then I should do so. The secondary market should be just that, a second place to buy and sell beanie babies.
- Dislike retailers selling the new ones for $15, or forcing you to buy other currents just to buy a new one. I hate the Beanie shows in the malls---those people rip un-educated and new collectors off. They have no business selling current ones, they should stick to retireds. The market is getting so saturated that the values will come down on the ones there are bunches of.
- I think it is neat but would like to know how the secondarie market gets the new beanies before the retailers do? the cost at 2nd dealers,I feel will ruin the beanie baby trade fast then anything.
- they kick ass
- I think TY should not announce new releases until after they have produced them and they should make the bear more available.
- I think the next ones that are going to retire in October are: Wise the Owl, Princess, Erin, Squealer, Mel, Chocolate, Ringo, Valentino, and Daisy
- I think that the Ty company needs to check more closely some of the retailers that they sell to and have a better controll on those who do not comply with their suggested prices and be more considerate of retail shops that do comply with their pricing suggestion. Stores like Log Cabin Souvenirs in Nashville had the best prices in that area but yet they are now not able to get Ty products any more because of ownership change. The store is a retail gift shop and has had Ty products for three years and
now can't get any , it doen't seem right. Other stores in the area are charging very high prices for beanies. Thank you
- The beanies that don't sell well are most likly to retire.
- I'd like to see hermie the hermit crab
- I love them all, and my family and I altogether only are missing 10!!!
- you used to be able to go to a beanie retailer and get the beanies you wanted a couple years ago, now people are so greedy and the secondary market so large its really hard to get your favories in the stores unless you camp out, follow the ups man, call around or are at the store right when they arrive at the stores! Ive heard of people having the tracking codes for ups and know when and where shipments are to arrive!! It really takes the fun out of collecting and I am considering selling off most o
my extensive collection and getting out of the rat race!!
- I think that all the current bears (not counting new ones) will retire next
- I hate the way that the secondary market acts. BBs were made as an "INEXPENSIVE" gift. To those who blow up prices "@#$%^$@!&*(^&%^%$*&%! you!
- Adults are out of control!!!!
- Keep making beanies TY!!
- I do think TY needs to control a lot of their dealers. We went to Wisconsin Dells on vacation. Only one dealer out of all of them there were following Ty's guidelines.
- I don't like how some beanies are way over priced! There are some that I would really like to have but I'm not that rich to pay some of the prices.
- Just wish they were not so expensive. Love the bears and would like to collect more of them and the dogs. I think some of the dealers are marking up the beanie's to much! It kind of takes the joy out of collecting them because of their greed.
- I love my beanies but I think people think I'm crazy.
- ??
- I wish the bears would be kept at the same price as all the rest and more made, so the secondary market couldn't charge such outrageous prices.
- First of all, I think people pay way to much for little bean bag toys. I am a collector myself, only 12 yrs. old. The most I ever paid for a ty beanie baby was $8.00. I also heard from a close friend of mine told me that a store got in trouble with TY company for selling them too high. Although I'm not sure about it, I would rather believe it than not. I think people who pay over 1,000 dollars even for one of the bears is a little crazy. One other thing I heard was that in 15-20 years these beanie babi
s aren't going to be worth a single penny. Again, it might just be a rumor. Overall, I like this site and the great pictures!
- Collecting the Bears is becoming very difficult and I feel it is going to cause collectors to fall away with every new issue of Beanies.
- STORES SHOULD STOP CHARGING SO MUCH
- I don't like the idea of women camping out at stores when they know they will have new beanies in. I collect for myself and I do not fight people for them. They are intended for children, but these beanie crazed people always buy them out. Thank you.
- I wish more retailers had a waiting list for the new beanies for the people who have to work and cannot go and check the stores all day long.
- It would be nice if there were more "True Beanie Lovers" purchasing and less "Greedy 2nd Market Monsters!"
- retire all bears and start fresh in 1999
- I think the secondary market is stupid and very greedy.
- I think that there should be more emphasis to send beanie babies to stores that sell them for reasonable prices. In our area it seems that the stores that sell them for three times the price receive all the scheduled shipments.
- I was very disappointed in one of Ty's authorized dealers, Marshall Hospital in Placerville, California, who told me over the phone that they had Erin, Princess and three new releases and would be selling them the following day. I took off work, was fourth in line and waited to make my purchase. When the gift shop manager arrived, she had taken the beanies home the night before, bagged them up for hospital employees and refused to sell any of the bagged beanies even though they had not yet been paid
or. Fortunately, since I was fourth in line I was able to purchase Princess, whisper, tracker and jabber for $6 each, but she would not sell Erin. Also, I was the last customer to buy any new releases and Princess. They just refused to sell any more. There were at least 100, if not more who didn't even get a chance. It seems to me that would be considered diversion under Ty's policy. There were many people who went away empty handed. If they didn't plan on selling them, why did they assure us over
he phone that they had any at all? Anyway, just want to get this off my chest. I was very disappointed in the way it was handled.
- Beanies are the fad of the decade!!!
- i think that all currents should be $5.99 no matter what is special about them!
- i love beanies, but the world is becomming crazy!
- BB's Rock
- I hate when stores require you to make an expensive purchase to get a bear fot under $7.00.
- I love how every time I bring a Beanie Baby home to my children their faces light up out of pure excitement.
- I hate how retailers can break the rules and sale non-retired beanies for a much larger price. (When we all know they do not pay more for these beanies) I wish Ty would really start not selling to these retailers that play unfair!
- I don't like dealers who only sell to favorite people!
- I know an Authorized Retailer who is selling the New Beanie Babies at $50.00 each and is also selling them to secondary markets! It is Ricky's Hallmark Store in Fairhope, Alabama. This is so unfair to those of us that are collecting them because we enjoy them so much. We cannot afford them at these prices! He is an Authorized Retailer, and he should not be allowed to sell them the way he is!
- i love beanies!! i think there should be more contests on the internet for them!!
- emilemeyer@yahoo.com
- Beanies are becoming toys for adults. A bent tag is the worst thing in the world. BBs are apsolutely not a toy for children anymore. Children can no longer afford a bean bag toy. The secondery market has gone apsolutely overboard. For example, GLORY the bear is worth $25.00 according to the August Beanie MANIA. i have seen Glory for $79, $130, AND$91. iTS NOT RIGHT!ingis worth the bear toy bent tag is the worst thing in the world. this is no longer a childrens toy. There
s no way a CHOILHJ bent tag is the worst thing in
-
- Not all secondary market sellers are bad when ever I get a savings I pass it on to my customer. I strongly believe what goes around will most deffintly come around so I treat those around me the way I would like to be treated. I just wish when some beanie hunter look for thier beanies they remember there are those who sell on the secondary market that are fair and honost people.
- If more Nat'l chains sell Beanies, there would be no need to collect them!
- i love beanie babies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Ty has so many current beanies on the market right now, alot of which people already have and I think it would be a good idea for them to retire all the beannies that are current right now and strat over with a new batch. Not only will it give the stores that are selling the beanies a break it will also give the customers satisfaction because now they will have beanies that are retired and it will keep them interested.
- I don't like the way Ty encourages high prices on the secondary market by limiting and delaying delivery of New Beanies to retailers. Ty also does many other things that I think are unethical and border on being unfair business practices.
- Jabber and Wise will retire because Jabber is probably very hard to make. Wise will probably retire because he has "Class of '98" on him. Chocolate will definetly retire.
- I think it's amazing. When I first started collecting, you could get them anywhere, but now.... well, you'll get the picture if you haven't already.
- Please retire Peace.. Make him a rareity.
- I love Ty's beanies and I have never bought any other fake only Ty. No matter if they're for myself or someone else.
- It really irritates me the way retailers try and make an additional profit off of beanies, for example you must purchs 20.00 in other merchandise to buy Glory for 50.00.
- I find collecting beanies to be very fun and addicting. I love all the different animals and look forward to collecting as many as I can at reasonable prices. I do wish that the secondary market did not take advantage of us Beanie addicts and charge outragous amounts for the new releases and the hard to find currents. I understand that their value goes up but selling glory for $175 dollars is outragous. That kind of greed mars the fun and excitement of collecting.
- Secondary market prices are ridiculous
- I LOVE YOUR BEANIE BABIES YOU SOULD NEVER STOP MAKING THEM THE ARE A REAL TREASURE TO ME
- The new fourteen have been very hard to find. It seems like the stores in our area are not recieving their shipments.
- My mum and dad (who fund my craze) are hoping the bubble does not burst
- Chocolate should be retired because he is the only Beanie Baby of the 1st Teenie Beanie Babies that has not been retired. Also, I would like to see Ty do a memorial Bear of Elvis Presley (I really wanted it to be blue, for Blue Suede Shoes, but another company has beat him to that) so TY could do a bear in a striped prison suit for "Jailhouse Rock" and call him Rocky; also, Ty needs to limit the amount of new ones he comes out with. I think not over 6 at a time. The reason I say this is that it is e
pensive to try and get 14 at a time (when you can find them) and it is so hard to find them for regular price when they first come out. Ty could get them into the retail stores quicker if there were fewer to be distributed; also another idea is Ty could come out with Bear Twins or Triplets for the Beanie Baby Club Members. He could have a contest for naming them. That would be fun and create interest.; another suggestion is why not have Presidential Bears to go along as part of the political, American
Righty, Lefty, Liberty, Baldy, and Glory (the presidential bears could have a picture emblem of the president they represent. That would be neat and children would learn the names of the presidents. They would not have to be made all at one time. Maybe one or two every three months
- I dislike the fact that some secondary market people have dozens of hard to find bears (such as Princess), some even in original Ty packaging, and I can't even get one! I really appreciate the retailers that try to be fair to all customers, such as limiting the number of each or total number any one customer can purchase. This gives me a better chance to get ones I need for my children and myself.
- I think that retailers should not participate in the secondary market. Sometimes outrageous prices and agitated retailers make the sport unappealing. I do realize the stress that beanie collectors can cause them though. There needs to be a good balance.
- I'm in it for the money. Buy em cheap and sell them high, but not rip-off prices
- I hear rumors that Disney is looking to buy ty Inc, i hope this not true.
- I strongly dislike dealers selling to the secondary market, which keeps we dedicated collectors from getting the new desirable beanies at a reasonable price, or from even finding them in retail stores.
- I HAD AN ACCOUNT WITH TY SINCE 1994. THEY CLOSED IT IN JAN. OF THIS YEAR IN SPITE OF ALL EFFORTS TO STOP IT FROM BEING CLOSED. I HAD MANY CUSTOMERS TO WRITE AND PHONE TY TO COMPLAIN. I SOLD ALL MY BEANIES INCLUDING PRINCESS FOR $5.00. TY DOESN'T REALLY CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER IN SPITE OF THEIR PRETENSE THAT THEY DO. THEY SHOULD ADD AN AREA, LIKE THIS, TO THEIR CUSTOMER SURVEY, SO THAT CUSTOMERS CAN REALLY TELL THEM WHAT THEY WANT. MANY SHOPS SELLING BEANIES FOR $5 HAVE LOST THEIR ACCOUNTS. THE SHOPS S
LLING FOR INFLATED PRICES REMAIN OPEN. I SENT A LIST OF OVER 100 NAMES AND PHONE NUMBERS, SO TY COULD CHECK WITH THEM CONCERNING MY ACCOUNT AND OTHERS AROUND. THEY CHECKED WITH NO-ONE.PLEASE TELL THEM TO ADD AN AREA AND LET CUSTOMERS SPEAK LIKE THIS, IF THEY REALLY ARE INTERESTED IN WHAT PEOPLE WANT. ALSO THE REPS HAVE TOO MUCH AUTHORITY WITH THIS COMPANY. I'VE NEVER DEALT WITH A COMPANY BEFORE WHERE THE REPS HAD SO MUCH AUTHORITY. I FIRMLY BELIEVE THAT SOME OF THE REPS ROUTE BEANIES WHERE THEY WANT THEM T
GO. THEY DO NOT WANT RETAILERS TO ORDER DIRECT FROM THE COMPANY[ EVEN THOUGH THEY GET THE SAME CREDIT FOR THE ORDER], BUT WANT TO PLACE THE ORDER THEMSELVES. THE RETAILERS THAT WORK THIS WAY WITH THE REPS, MANY TIMES DO NOT GET GOOD ORDERS, WHILE ANOTHER SHOP UP THE STREET WILL GET ALL OF THE GOOD THINGS. I ALWAYS ORDERED DIRECT AND MOST OF THE TIME GOT GOOD ORDERS. MY CUSTOMERS OFTEN COMMENTED ON THE GOOD ORDERS THAT I WOULD GET. I WAS ALWAYS AMONG THE FIRST TO GET NEW ITEMS. SOME ORDERING THROUGH THE RE
WOULD BE A LONG TIME GETTING THINGS WHILE OTHERS WOULD GET THEM QUICKLY. SOMETHING IS VERY WRONG WITH THE WAY THIS COMPANY OPERATES. ASK OTHER RETAILERS IN SOUTHERN KENTUCKY AND ESPECIALLY ASK THE CUSTOMERS, AND YOU WILL SEE WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. THANKS FOR LISTENING.
- Wise-the owl will be retried and so will Princess probably before New Years
- Retailers charge too much for the teddy bears and ty does nothing to them.
- Adults Ruin Everything. The truth hurts.
- I dislike the fact that the bears are not a little more accessible. Ty really should start mass producing the new releases. Next retirement prediction September or October. Retirement predictions: Snort, Congo, Bongo, Valentino, and Princess. Thank You!
- I wish there were more beanie shows in my area!!!!
- I think that Beanie babies are way too pricey. I feel that people should be able to purchase one if they desire to. But paying more then $10 for them is ridiculous. I think that is why they are in so much demand.
- I am ready to move on... I think that way too many people are collecting Beanies and I feel that they will certainly go the way of "Power Rangers", yet with admittedly more longevity.
- The rowe manse emporium in clifton n.j. burned me with princess. I paid $275 for one with a pvc tag and shortly after found that it was selling for much less. I had reserved a erin at the emporium also and got a post card telling me that it was in and they wanted $150 . I went to the store and told them that their price was too high. They responded that it was supply and demand. I told them that I didn't want it and I would buy it on the internet for $50.
- Stores do not receive enough new beanies
- no
-
- dislike unscrupulous ty retailers
- Beanies are cute affordable and profitable
- dislike unscrupulous ty retailers
- Alot Ty dealers in my area are selling all bear at $20 -30 each or making you purchase merchandise of $50 $60 in order to purchase a bear (at additional cost)
- Some retailers will actually sell the popular ones in "baskets" meaning that you can only buy it bundled with other merchandise at a much higher amount, such as $29.99. I don't think this is a fair way to sell them.
- wish it wasn't so hard to find them.
- My 9 year old daughter and I love collecting all the cute beanies. I just wish they weren't so hard to find and the there was no 2nd market with such inflated prices.
- I HATE SECONDARY STORES THAT CHARGE TOO MUCH. IT IS GETTING OUT OF HAND!!!!
- I think that it is strange for a thing that is so cheap to be worth alot of monny. Oh well anorther buck in my pocket.
- It is unfair that retailers can sell the new beanies for $8-75 (75 for Glory.) Also, purchases of beanie related items in order to buy the new beanies is unfair. This should be stopped.
- I don't like that people are charging $5,500 for a single BB- they're made to be just $5-7!
- I wish more stores would cary them!!!
- I don't like merchants requiring a $50-60 purchase in addition to any Beanies one buys.
- I think the television market is way overpriced and its too bad people pay those prices, but that's the way a free enterprise system operates.
- TY SHOULD MASS PRODUCE THE BEANIES THAT ARE WANTED THE MOST. IE: RIGHT NOW THAT WOULD BE GLORY. MASS PRODUCING WHAT IS WANTED THE MOST, WOULD BE THE BEST DEFENSE AGAINST THE SECONDARY MARKET.
- i love these little beanie babies. i can not get enough.
- The secondary market has taken the fun out of looking forward to the new released beanies. What happen to the cute little beanie that anyone could afford!?
- how do you report authorized ty dealers selling at outragous amounts?
- i like contests
- I don't like that secondary markets have contacts
- trap rules, he is the bomb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I would like a direct e-mail to Ty and receive a response besides the nobody at Ty.
- need more ty reps. most sellers are second hand dealers
- I think that dealers who ask for secondary market price on new releases should be stopped. Once a beanie retires than if they donate money to charity I think that is great.
- I hope beanie babies go on forever. They just make you feel good!!
- no
- The bears are being horded by retailers and then sold at high prices!
- secondary sellers are a disgrace, they are greedy people . i thought the original idea of beanies was for the children. now these people make it impossible for kids to get the beanies they want. if they didn't jack the prices up so high, or have new releases before the stores (which is cheatingi) it wouldn't be so bad.
- The only thing that I think is ashame is that it is so difficult to get the brand new beanies, such as Glory for anything close to a reasonable price. There should be some time period whereby new beanies have a price cap so that kids as well as collectors have a fair shot at obtaining a complete collection of the new beanies.
- I think the market is dropping and can't wait. I want to pick up some of the REAL HTF
- I DISLIKE THE FACT OF SEONDARY PRICING AND THE FACT THAT RETAILERS ARE SAYING THE DONT HAVE THEM WHEN THEY DO AND THEY ARE SELLING OVER THE INTERNET AND CHARGING OUTRAGIOUS PRICES
- WISH TY WOULD SET UP THEIR OWN STORES, KEEP LARGE CHAINS AND PHASE OUT SMALL STORES. THIS WOULD CUT BACK ON RETAILER GREED AND PUT A DENT IN THE SECONDARY SCALPERS MARKET.
- I dislike the people who clean out the shops when new beanies come in, so the kids don't stand a chance to purchase one except one the secondary - more expensive market.
- i think that the next beanie baby should be a sea horse.
- Dislike - Dealers requiring you to purchase an item to get a bear or to purchase a number of BB in order to buy a new release.
- me and my 2 best friends all have princess, and coloct beanies
- I wish all the bears, including Princess and Erin, were sold at retail price.
- I dislike how they're are very few actually honest retailers. I've seen way to many that take "hard-to-find" beanies and put them on "special" shelves. I am however very proud to say that we have purchased all of the new ones for no more than 7.00 each! We even found Glory! I think that so called retailers are turning into secondary market dealers! Hate seeing signs saying "buy 100.00 of merchandise and get Princess for 5.00". If you have any comments, please e-mail me at allenn@oburg.net. Just copy a
d paste.
- I'm almost 30 and act like a kid when I see some at flea markets that my Sister & I go to. Love collecting the dogs. They are so cute. I think they need a black , fuzzy, dog named Cowboy. That's my little puppy. Well, we can dream can't we? Thanks for the great site. LLH
- i THINK THAT THE DEALERS SHOULD ALL BE IN THE SAME RANGE FOR SELING bEANIES AND NOT MAKE YOU SPEND $25 IN THEIR STOR FOR OTHER MDS OTHER THAN BEANIES TO GET A FAIR PRICED NEW BEANIE.
- I don't think it is fair that Hallmark stores are supposedly the top retail market and they cannot get shipments of newbies because the secondary market already has the bulk of production.
- I heard Stretch was going to retire soon because of all the colars, it was too hard to make.
- When the last new releases in June came out they were on the secondary market before you could purchase them anywhere. It took the fun out of trying to find them in the stores. I've heard this from many people.
- beanie babies are going down in value, FAST! but i still enjoy them!!!
- I feel many bears will retire this fall.
- I wish I could find more places that sell new beanies at the price of regular currents, not secondary market prices.
- you shouldretire pouch ,Iggy and rainbow becoase Pouch has a small part that a baby could possibly choke on and becoase Iggy is a chamilion not an iguanna and becoause one Iggy has a toung and the other one dosen't so one iggy should retire .Since theirare two iggys (one has a toung and one doesnt)to stop the confusion one should retire. Now I think that rainbow should retire becoause he isn't a chamilion he's an iguana. Chocolate,Mystic,Daisy,Blackie and Pinky should retire too , for another resonibl
explnation, thay are older than some retired beanies.Mystic is hard to find andblackie's tag says "Living in a nationial park, he only played after dark, until he met his best friend cubby, now thaay play when it's sunny", and cubby is retired.pinky was born in '95'and she is one of the only '95ers, so I think you might as well make all born in 95 retiired, and I think you should make a beanie of the future like one born inthe year 3000, or something like that.
- I Hate the Fact that you can never Find Princess,Erin,or, Glory anywher and when you do they wont sell it.
- retailers should not charge more than $6, and should not allow more than one of any kind to be purchased by an individual or family in any one visit
- I LOVE BEANIES!!!
- I dislike how nasty some people have become, particularly Hallmark Retailers. Beanies have brought them in, I'm sure, obscene amounts of profit, but they are very very nasty for the most part when it comes to anyone who even mentions "Beanies". It is very frustrating. Also, authorized retailers who only call regular customers when the rare, htf beanies come in and not make them available to the general public. These are supposed to be a fun collectible primarily for kids, but I would be ashamed to
ave my kids see the behavior of some of these collectors!
- TY should be more available to BB consumers to hear about their dishonest retailers! While there is a TY survey going on right now, many of the questions aren't relevant and there is no place to add comments. I'd like to see TY DROP the retailers who are not abiding by the rules! I've also heard that BB collectors are rude but my experience has been that the retailers are rude. If they don't want to deal with lines and phone calls they should stop selling TY products! I resent having to purchase $
0-$100 in "other" store products to purchase an Erin bear for $7!!! TY - where are you? Have your sales reps check on these retailers and report back to you!!!!!
- Keep the price fair for kids!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I hope the trend in Beanie Babie Collecting continues. I think my husband hates my Beanies!
- Ty bugs me.....they say the beanies are for everyone and yet the way they produce them it causes a greedy secondary market.....and on their Ty network they show how much they care by never letting people know when a hacker has messed up their site.......a message comes on stating you have behaved inappropriately.....I for one am switching to Disney Beanies more and more and I have been collecting for a few years....Ty never answers anyone........cashes our checks for Clubby and hasn't sent one out to d
te that anyone can verify....Ty cares about profit.........show me where they care about us.........
- You need to add new beanies to your lists of beanies in some of the questions. I think beanies are really cute and it's just a bonus that it is possible to make money if you guess right about the market and are willing to be patient for your own collection and are persistent with finding them at retail. I don't like spending more than retail on beanies. I have invested a bunch in my collection, so I am trying to get some back by selling and I really like to trade--am almost done collecting all the b
anies back through Oct. 97. I do think the market is going to basically dwindle--new ones will no longer appreciate in value even after being retired. And older ones will stay the same or go down some as fewer people collect and we have almost no new collectors. I mean--get real--how rare can a beanie be when there were 5 million made of it? And many more of the teenies--and yet they are still selling for more than they cost. Bizarre! I would never invest more than I can afford to spend on beanies--t
ey are just for fun and not a serious investment. If you want to invest, buy land--they aren't making any more. Or do an intelligent portfolio of stocks/bonds/safe bank investments/etc. Don't get me started on mutual funds--talk about a way-overpriced volatile market! :)
- DISLIKE NASTY DEALERS
- I think that the new spring arrival beanies are way over priced
- DISLIKE NASTY DEALERS
- I think Ty is making way to many bears available to only one country (I.e. American Quartet, Maple, Britannia)
- the secondary market dealersare ruining it for kids.
- The secondary market hurts us kid who want to have fun... to have a hobby. You greedy adults do it to make money. REMEMBER: THEY ARE TOYS! KIDS LIKE TOYS. I KNOW SOME OF YOU ADULTS FEEL LIKE YOU'RE KIDS AT HEART, BUT GIVE US LITTLE ONES A CHANCE!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!
- I work at a Hallmark store that sells Beanies and I have one wish from Beanie retailers. Quit bugging us everyday! We do get sick of answering the same questions over and over every hour of the day.
- I am getting tired of collecting, and do not actively look as much - it is getting too costly just to collect the new currents for myself and my son.
- I wish that we didn't have to wait so long to purchase new beanies. I am tired of the speculators deciding before a beanie is even out that it will be "hard to find" or "more valuable"
- I had a friend say the stores shouldn't charge so much for the new Beanies because she could not make a profit. I asked her if Bread was too expensive, because how can she make a profit. I think the secondary market of CURRENT Beanies should go away!
- Local dealer says they will sell Glory for$75. They can only obtain from secondary market. they say ty is the problem.
- Although secondary dealers do increase the worth of the beanie babies, I am very dissatisfied with the stores in my area. Almost all of them are selling out the back door to secondary dealers, which makes it impossible to get any of the new ones for $6 at this time. My motto is "Be patient... good beanie babies come to those who wait!"
- I resent Retailers that sell the "special" beanies at an inflated price.
- Love the Hunting
- Don't like the fact that in Canada we have to wait so long to get the new releases I think ty should release new stock at the same time .A lot of time the inventory levels seem to be depleated before we can even get them.I've been told that for the latest releases we may have to wait months as a lot of the retailers are limited to how many they can get and they sell to family and friends first and whatever is left over we get.,I love collecting my beanie babys and wish there was some way to complete m
collection without going through the secondary market ,or at least there was a better pricing structure in that area.In Canada most of the retailers are honest and sell them at the suggested retail price.
- brings out the child in everyone who still believes in magic, santa, and all childhood dreams
- I think people are getting crazy over these beanies. I was in a store a couple of days ago and the new Beanies were in. A man that worked for the store threw a box of beanies at the crowd and the all dove onto the floor onto the box. They were stupid. One man who was holding his 1yr old daughter dove on the box and his daughter's face hit a metal shelf very hard. He didn't even really care. He just wanted a Glory Bear. A man in his 70's pushed my daughter who is 3 1/2 years old. All she was doing was l
oking through a box of older beanies. That's terrible that the adults act worse than little kids when it comes to collecting Beanies.
- I love Beanies!
- I believe the secondary market is good for beanie baby mania. there are a lot of people who, inlike me, are unable to go tearing around to every store to find the beanies they need. They are only too happy to pay a little more to acquire them easily from a few secondary market people. I do, however, believe that some secondary market people are most unscrupulous, manufacturing rumors to scare people into buying at much higher than necessary prices for fear a beanie will be retired soon. I really fe
l I must compliment Ty on his ability to make these animals as realistic as they are. The expressions are wonderful! I think a buffalo would be a good idea for a future beanie and perhaps a new butterfly.
I really fe

- I think retired beanie babies should not cost so much!
- Beanies are the cutest things ever made!!!!!!
- I think on some beanie babies the plastic that holds the tag on is to short.
- I HATE COUNTERFIETERS
- I would like to see TY's pricing philosophy followed more closely by retailers.
- My child is the Beanie collector in our house and other adult collectors make it very hard for a child to compete for Beanies because of course the adults have more money at their disposal and sometimes they are just bigger and meaner!
- more web sites should have beanie baby games that you can print out
- I love beanies, and
- I love BB's because they are really cute and a good thing to collect. They aren't too expensive and easy to find. I love Erin and Princess!!
- When my daughter and I started this it was fun but I feel like it has gotten so out of hand that it's more of a hassle and dissapointment then anything
- I wish that it were easier to obtain newer beanies. I am new to this "collecting" and with 2 small childern I do not have the time to hang out at stores waiting for the UPS truck to arrive. It would be nice just to walk into a store one day and see a bunch of newer beanies just waiting to be bought! Its not fair when your child would like to buy a new beanie and someone in line has purchased 6 of one type of beanie. I guess that's where stores should set policies of how many of one they can purchas
.
- some people are too greedy on prices...for example, i've seen people selling curly for $30+...i got mine for only $6...there are good deals if people just take the time to look
- Clubbie is going to be very expensive
- My husband and I enjoy the Beanie Babies and the hunt of them. We bought a special display case for them and put it in the kitchen. The grandkids think it's great and now they want them too. So every holiday or special occasion they get one. It is a fun why to have a hobbie and not real expensive if you are willing to wait for the prices to come down. I dislike the secondary market. I think they are to greedy. How much money is enough and why does the secondary market have all the rights to the
eanies first. I love the newest beanies. I don't know how they do it. So real like and with such details. Keep up the good work Ty! I love the bears with their flag on them. I think it is a wonderful way for all of us to learn what other countires flags look like. I had a dream one afternoon. Daydreaming at work oh well, little music instruments, very detailed with cute little faces on them and cute little beanie dolls for boy and girls with the costumes of different countries. Thank you for
the opportunity to thank you and Ty and also vent and express myself in every way.
- I hope Snort will retire!!! I am disgusted when I just see piles of him sitting around in the stores....
- I dont like how Ty inc. is not easily accessible to the public. So many things are going on right under there nose and yet they really dont seem to care. I really would like to turn in the dealers who are ripping people off but how can i contact Ty, and why cant i do it over the internet. They show be able to get e-mail from there devoted buyers so then they could really see what dealers are doing on the market.
- Retailers selling beanies out the back door to secondary dealers instead of selling them in the stores to regular customers.
- They should make an alien beanie babie. They made a ghost!
- pricing guies on the internet are never the same. i find a specific beanie worth $75 and the same one is also listed somewhere for $220.
- I dislike the greed. I feel sorry for us collectors, especially the children
- They're nice to play with
- only comment: LOVE THOSE BEANIES!
- retailers make it impossible to get the bears!
- I think pounce, snort, daisy and any other bb with 1995 or before birthday should be retired.....
- I think pounce, snort, daisy and any other bb with 1995 or before birthday should be retired.....
-
- E-mail NEALBROWN@Prodigy.net if you'd like to join my Beanie Baby club called Bean Bags Anonymous. You could also join at expage.com/page/joinbba. If you e-mail me, don't forget your name, e-mail address, and what you want your nickname to be. Bye!
- I love collectoing beanies, but there are some people out there are are very scary!!
- I don't like how people get into fights for a cute, $5 toy!! I think Beanie Babies are for children and not for greedy sellers on the secondary market.
- I like about the beanie phenomenon, I can find them most any where I go. What I dislike is that some of the places i find them they are priced WAY too high. Then my parents say , no we're sorry we can't get them, and I am very disappointed. Like Magic the Dragon was retired and is now $40 or $50 dollars. I 'm not sure I will EVER have this wonderful beanie. My mom says to be patient, but it is very hard to see how expensive they are.
- I wish adults wouldn't buy so many at a time so kids could have some and they wouldn't retire so quickly so you can have a chance to get them.
- I don't think stores should be able to sell beanies for more than $7.00.
- Beanies are still popular, but because they have been popular for so long, most collecters have all of the older currents. Because of this, I (and many other people) can go into stores and see the older currents in piles and heaps because since everyone has them, no one's buying them. TY should start making more of the new ones and less of the older ones.
- I like hunting for Beanies with my Mom. It gives us a shared interest!
- I love them because they are cute. I don't like the people who buy all the beanies and then I see them at the flea market selling them all the time. It makes it impossible for me to get any new ones especially since I work and I can't be there in the morning when the new ones arrive.
- Sorry, nothing on the "beanie phenoninmon" but, I do have some personal stuffs. They should have a cats birthday on august 5, (sigh, it can't be zip. I love cats and zip is my absolute favorite) But a new _ip cat on august 5 would make me so happy!!
- Seaweed the Otter may be among the next retirements or redesigned w/new material. Watch that Iggy! So far I have found 4 variations in the fifth generation: 1)Iggy w/PVC pellets 2)Iggy w/PE pellets 3)Iggy w/tongue 4)Iggy w/tongue,pastel. Smoochy first came out with a thread mouth;now he has a velvet mouth. Flash! The new Attic Treasure, Samuel, also showed up in one Vancouver shop with a tag that named him"Lg Bear". Watch for them. Finally, watch out for the sports bears coming in December. The first s
ries sold out in three days! Get your Griffey Jr.-if you can.
- I think Wise and Rocket will retire soon
- Again and again I have run into unethical retailers and people who just do not understand what is feels like to be a mother with 4 children collecting. I have literally met the bottom of the barrel in humanity on some of my stops. It is a real shame that something like a childs toy has gone this crazy.
- I wished there was way to report retail dealers who taking the public by setting what price they think they can get away with.I would report in a second.
- I DON'T LIKE GREEDY VENDORS.
- I really enjoy beanie baby hunting!!!!!!!
- I like it when Ty retires one animal and makes another one like it. For example Slither and Hissy, Web and Spinner, or Sparky and Dotty.
- I love beanies. I think that they are great for us kids!
- I think in general the commom beanies are not in demand any longer. Only some of the harder to get ones are in demand here where I live.
- I am seriously obsessed. On occasion, you can find me screaming "Only 15 more!! Only 15 more until my collection [of currents] is complete!!"
- getting the new ones is next to impossible!
- Does anyone know if there is a Beanie Baby Annonymus?!
- i can't get the new new ones for a decent price, but if i wait a year or two down the road i will probably get them for the price the old ones go for now, and that not right. i got princess for 5.99 three days ago.
- I think Glory is going to be the next Libearty.
- I don't like the fact that people and companies on the net are selling currents for 8.00 or more?
- Prices too high on new releases make it almost impossible to get them.
- I feel sorry for the kids, because a lot of the time they can't afford them due to the dealers making the prices out of their reach.
- I have all of the current beanie babies and I am waiting for the next new releases. I am thinking abbout collecting attic treasures.
- It's terrible that secondary sources have all the new beanie babies before the authorize dealers.
- I think when you get a new release it should sell for the price of 5.99 like it is suppose to for a while then go up in price.
- I dislike stores that sell current hard to find beanies for more than $5.99. I wish Ty would send more new beanies and less of the old, they sit in the stores. I like beanies, but if I ever tire of them they will always make great gifts.
- it is sooooo much fun!!
- I don't like Tys' games with syores!
- Tracker is the best beanie!
- I dislike that some of them are so expensive!
- i think that people should use their heads when buying beanies esp. the new ones. i don't like the way they have made people act!! like idiots!! let everyone have a chance to buy them don"t buy and buy let the next guy or better yet child have a chance i think as long as a high demand is out there this is not going to go away for a while i think that strictor rules need to be enforced on retailers that are selling these new ones for 40-150 dollars should have their accounts pulled stick t
the RULES
- I think it's fun and healthy. Not happy with the way Ty allows secondary market to horde all the bears and new releases and dealers cannot get them. Would enjoy smaller production runs to keep values up, but also don't make us go crazy. Well, the predictions are that the bottom is going to drop out of market. If Ty produces large quantities, then this will happen. If Ty were smart, and he is, he'll do another major retirement. Forest critters will be retired so new ones are due.
- It is too hard to find the new ones in my area, except through a secondary dealer. I would like to see the new ones be more available from the very begining.
- I think the new releases are made better and have more filling in them.
- Have more bear available to purchase. ie. Princess, Erin, Glory, Fortune...I hate having to buy ten beanies just to get one of the bears! With my three children and my collection we already have four of everything, I do not need more, or want to spend more on beanies we already have.
- Its becoming an obsession
- acually the answer to noumber18. is Glory!
- I'm very disappointed in the Ty dealers in this area. Our local flea market is flooded with very high priced new releses, however our local stores are still waiting?? It certainly is hard to believe Ty hasn't reached all it's distributors in the last three months. For that matter,we have still never seen Peace, Erin or Princess in a Hallmark shop. Something isn't right.
- I don't like that I can't get Garcia unless I pay a crazy price for him!
- I love beanies, they're the perfect toy. I think that Ty should make a peacock named "Swishy" and he'd be easy to make, just take the main desine of Gobbles and change colors and little things! I'm 13 and beanies are the cutest things in the world! I have 20(going on 21 when I get Clubby)!
- The greed of the collectors astounds me. In my town, I'm never on time. It seems also that the primary shopper is adult and they are shopping for themselves. I like collecting for my son and niece and work full time so am not able to beat the crowd.
- I'd like to see Lacey the Seahorse, Kisses the Llama, Arti the Parakeet and Chuckles the Chipmunk. I think TY shouldn't introduce new beanies until they can meet the demand. That way they don't start at $100 or more! All in all Beanie Babies is one of the most enjoyable collectibles. As a kid you love toys and stuffed animals and as adults you can still remember being a kid when you're picking out your favorite beanies. It takes away from the everyday's-the-same kind of thing. I just love 'em!! Keep
t up TY. They'll be around as long as we want them to be!
- I would like to see a tie-died cat and dog.
- I think all beanies should be sold at $5-10
- Luv ya!
- My personal Beanie Babies torture method: 1. Rip off the head 2. Pull out all the stuffing 3. Take out the beans 4. Rip off the eyes and feed to dog 5. Unstitch every hem 6. Use cloth to make a decorative placemat so when guests come over they can say, "Oh, what lovely placemats you have. I might have that Beanie Baby." Then they ask," Where did you get it?" And I say, "Oh, this is the only one left of its kind." And then they say, "Oh please I need this BB!!!" And I sell it to them for a mere
oh.....twelve billion dollars. And of course the dum wits buy 'em!!! But overall, I like Beanie Babies. I like to EAT 'em!!!
- I WISH THE DEALERS WOULD PUT THE BEANIES OUT AND NOT CALL THEIR FIREND SO EVERYBODY WOULD HAVE AN EQUAL CHANCE TO BUY THEM.
- concerned about the number of dealers playing "favorites" (i.e. holding back beanies for particular customers or holding back beanies until they retire!
- iI think they should start producing producks such as Diarys and chismass cards.
- The people at Hallmark are rude - and constantly selling them out the back door!
- i think the trend is increasing. new collectors every day. i collect for the pure enjoyment of fun. the secondary market can really get out of hand. where do they buy their stock. and how do they get hold of new beanies before the retail stores get their stock.
- AROUND THE CORNER IN MOBILE,AL IS FAIR
- It is far too difficult to get the new ones due to the greedy people buying all that are there for resale!
- i love my beanies
- I think some people are going overboard with this thing, i try to buy for my kids and can't find them because of so many people out to make a buck.
- i wish the prices would be more reasonable, however, it is unbelievable how the retail stores are making money without charging more for the new beanies or the hot items. they make you pay something like buy 10 beanies at regular price and get glory free, buy five beanies at regular price and get wise. that's what i did and now i have to try to sell the extra beanies. oh well.. i will sell them for exactly what i paid and no more. it's really for the kids even thou i really enjoy some of the critt
rs. sincerely yours from westport, ct, wilton ct bethel ct .
- I think it is extremely unfair that Canadians can't join the official club and therefore can't get a Clubby bear.
- It's Great!
- I think that the people in the secondary market are crazy to think they can get $20 + for the new beanies. I would rather wait then pay up to $225 for a single beanie baby.
- I love my Beanie Babies and I only buy them for myself or as presents for my step-daughter, Cyrstal, or I give them to my friends as gifts. I do not like the fact that the secondary market is so greedy that they take away the opportunity for the children to have certain Beanies. I also am dis-heartened when I hear about grown adults fighting in lines, and basically acting like jerks to get the Beanies. They are adults and they should set a good example to the children. Beanie Babies are made to put
miles on faces, not for idiotic behavior.
- I think the market for the "babes" has peaked and the prices will become more reasonable for the searious collector. I too am disturbed by the Ty dealers who are selling the BB to a secondary market and sharing the profits from these transactions. I know Hallmark dealers who are selling to Flea Market dealers at inflated prices. I know it would very difficult for TY to monitor this activity but we can refuse to by from the dealers who claim never to receive new shippments when every other dealer in
own has. There are some very honest dealers and those are the ones we should patronize. Thanks
- Can't Ty put price restrictions on their retailers? Children should be the primary interest of Ty. I get very angry at these greedy retailers and the collectors that are paying the outragious prices.
- beanies are cool!
- I think that the beanies cost should be about 5.00.They should also not put a limit on purchasing them. When we buy them we can only buy two at a time and my eight year old daughter gets so sad. Thank you.
- I dislaike the fact that Canadian dealers are always at least two months behind the US, and the official collector kit is unavailable to Canadians.
- Hallmarks are seeling at more then $6.00/sometimes at $25.00 for new ones.
- I really dislike the lines when bears and new releases come in. I think many consumers have good ideas and insights, but it is difficult to communicate with the company.
- I Don't like people taking kids Retird & hard too find beanies & not paying what ther worth.
- People who buy multiples, make it hard on us who just want one of a certain style.
- ME AND MY 12 YR. OLD DAUGHTER LOVE COLLECTING, BUT SOME RETAILERS SEEM TO HOLD BACK SOME OR NOT REACH THE FRONT DOOR SO IT MAKES IT HARDER TO GET THEM. I HAVE CAMPED OUT ALL NITE TO GET BEANIES WITH MY DAUGHTER TY HAS A GOOD THING GOING THEY ARE THE CUTEST ANIMALS AND THE QUALITY IS EXCELLENT!!!! THANKS, TY
- none
- It disgusts me that secondary dealers have beanies by the gros and alot of Ty dealers don't even have them yet its impossible to buy a bear for under $50.00 even from Ty dealers in my area.
- Citizens, not secondary marketers, should be able to by as many as we want, not be set under a limit.
- I filled this out for my daughter (5) yrs. these are her answers. she said to tell you it's not fair that a dealer tried to rip her off, on the phone he told me he had Peace and after driving for an hour to Marble Falls from Austin one of the clerks refused to sell her the bear for under 60.00 the woman said peace was retired. Katie said she left crying because her allowance is only 5.00 a week and I refuse to pay a dealer more than 7.00 for any current beanie baby. Katie says TY should stop them from
doing that.
- I'm staring to think that the fad is over
- some areas do not have very many store choices.
- I really Hope that Ican get Glory, Because she is going for alot now
- I think that the ideas aregood, but unfortunately the people that collect them are ridiculous. Far beyond the control of the manufacturers, people have just gotten out of hand.
- Some dealers are pricing was above standard retail prices. This should be strictly monitored (i.e. contracts, etc.)
- I think that at least 2 dogs will retire since 3 new came out. Which ones, I don't know. Also, princess, since value is dropping fast. Finally, Bruno and Crunch, since they are so unpopular.
- i wish that the old retired one wasnt that much.
- I think Beanies should be mostly for kidAdults who truley do love beanies should be able to collect them but the adults that buy them strictly for resale are runing it for us kids!s and teens. Greedy adults take all the good beanies in quantitys of way mo
- I think it's stupid how people spend the night in front of beanie babie stores!!!!!
- what I don't like is not being able to find any of the new ones.
- Princess should be retired on the 1st anivesery of diana's death and then there should be a new bear release in '99 called angel that has wings with the iridecent fabric (like magic's) and it should have a purple rose on it
- The secondary market sould be stopped so people who collect for fun can get all the beanies at the $6.00 they are suppost to be.
- I have over 2500 beanies because I have every single beanie baby with many duplicates, and I have been collecting them for 5 years.
- Greedy dealers (hallmark) who make you buy 6 or 8 or whater number they have in mind that day in order to purchase one that you want
- I say that you should try to get all of them, but especially the bears, and tie die ones those seem to retire faster!
- I really disklike when sales persons are rude because they've been phoned or visited repeatedly and asked questions about Beanie Babies. If they stock Beanie Babies, they should realize the customer contact involved. If they cannot be cordial and polite, they shouldn't work for a business that sells Beanie Babies.
- I really don't like that you have to answer a bout secondary market and about where you get your beanies
- I wonder how the secondary market is able to secure the new beanies so quickly when the authorized stores can hardly get their shipments.
- I love the thrill of the hunt! I hate the way Ty retailers grossly inflate prices or set" You must buy XX amount of BB in order to purchase NR or HTF for REGULAR BB price, many have also been known & have ADMITTED to keeping HTF & NR BB solely for own family members. (I am from a small town w/limited Ty retailers that seem to take advantage of the fact.) All & all we love BBs & refuse to let these things interfere w/our passion!(Taking the hunt 60 miles away) DkH
- Beanie Babies are a great thing to collect! WHat else can you buy for $5-7 and it increase in value so drasticly?! Beanie babies rock the house!
- I really enjoy trying to find Beanie Babies priced at a reasonable price. So, far , I have not paid more than $7.00 for any Beanie and that includes Princess, Erin, Glory, Fortune, Peace,Valentino,Curly, and Radar--to name just a few. I do get frustrated at times with the workers at some stores that treat Beanie hunters rudely. I also believe that children should be able to purchase Beanies .
- Beanie Babies are very interesting creatures! Would you pay more for a chair with 3 legs, like you do with an Inky with 7?
- Next year is the 100th anniversary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, I'd like to see some kind of commemortive eagle or other animal brought out for the occation.
- I think that Wise will definately retire this year!
- I love hedgehogs. How about a Beanie hedgehog
- I WOULD LIKE THE TY COMPANY , TO MAKE THAE RETALER TO SELL THE BEANIE BABY AT THE FIXED PRICE OF $5.00. THANK YOU
- dislike the high prices they charge for new ones these are for kids, it's a shame
- Ty should regulate prices on All beanies for all merchants. There are four beanie dealers in my town. One sells them for $4.98, one sells for $5.49, one sells for $5.98, and the other tries to get $14.99! Kids are so confused by it, and the parents get upset too. What's reaaly aggravating is the price-fixing in the secondary market, but I guess Ty can't control that.
- Just that beanies rule!!!!
- Well I have 1 comment, I didn't fill in anything for my favorite beanie because I can not do that. I don't favor any of them. I treat them like my kids. I don't pick favorites. I love them all. I sound crazy but hey I am only 13 and I just love collecting beanies. Hehe. I wanted to know if you were going to come out with a beanie starfish named Sandy. Well I really love beanies and I hope you make them for generations and generations. Well bye bye
- More availability of the old retired ones at somewhat lower prices so that us average low to middle class income families go also enjoy hunting for and buying them. Thanks Rosemarie T. Mullen
- me and my sister just got a princess the bear each, and didnt pay over the normal price
- I think ty should make new ones at least once a month so they don't die out
- I think TY should make sure their retailers don't charge outrageous prices for their BB's.
- There are too many retailers who are selling for higher than the issue price of $5-7. I can see paying more on the secondary market, however, retailers in our area are selling bears or their "own personal" beanies{current}at much higher prices.
- I think there are too many Ty BB in the collection. When I first started collecting there were less than 100 in the collection, now there are too many to keep up with. There are too many long lines at the stores, some of the retailers are selling the new BB on the secondary market. This has made me start collecting all the Disney BB and Attic Treasures. There are no lines for these items. I sell BB at BB shows, and what I am seeing is, that a lot of collectors are switching to the Attics and Disney's.
any collectors have never seen Attics or Disney's. They get very excited about them. Other dealers are selling the new Ty BB at exhorbitant prices. As we all know, when more of the new BB are in the stores the prices come down. Another trend that I see at the shows is this: Many dealers have the older currents and they cannot sell them, because I have seen many of the older currents sitting in the bins of authorized retailers and they can't sell them either. I think there are too many Ty BB on the market.
Ty should retire many of the BB and keep the collection at about 100. The quality of some of the older currents had gone down, but the new ones that were just released are of excellant quality. A lot of collectors that I have met were not aware of the Attics or Disney's, but when they see them, they always buy them from me. That is, young or old. I don't know if my opinion will mean anything or not. The shows that I have done have had over 1,000 people attending. Thanks!
- You should lower your your prices when buying

- Beanie Babies are cute but they are way over priced
- The only reason I like Beanie Babies is because they're worth lots of money and little kids think it's fun to have toys so their parents buy a little Beanie Baby for a thousand dollars and I get rich, filthy rich!!!
- I think they suck (Beanie Babies)
- I know for a fact that Dotty is retireing this year!!
- I think they should make a cancer or aids bear
- I love Beanies Babies (alway played with stuffed animal as a child) What I don't like like is if I happen to go to a store and they have a bear usual they have a drawing for him. I fell like if I was lucky enough to walk in the store at the time they have the bear fine, but I have to be double lucky to purchase him. Thank You
- I wish that they would make a brown and white tabby cat named Emily.
- I feel that the Beanie 'Fad' will go on forever. They have a great catch to the marketing. They 'retire' some and that make the beanie crazy fans want them even more. Then they bring out new ones so the collection never ends. It also in a way is a contest on who can get the most, the most valuble, the most wanted, and simply who has the MOST. All in all Ty is doing pretty well but they need to work on thier supply and demand.
- I work in a store with a ty account so I hear it all day long and I see what the latest trend is. Gobbles and Chocolate are common retirement speculations: chocolate being obvious because original 9, gobbles because it is a lot of work. Bruno is one also because nobody buys him. He is ugly. He is never on backorder. The dealers have stopped buying him so ty will probably stop making him. Another I would like to predict along with the rest of the world is WISE.
- It saddens me to see greedy people and people using children to obtain beanies fraudulently
- hi what will this survey do?
- Dislike uncertainty of supply and inaccurate delivery information from stores.
- As an authorized TY dealer, I am personally infuriated by dealers who sell out the back door, sell at flea markets, and overprice the products...especially the new designs and the bears. Ty Warner is a man of high personal integrity and I am proud to affiliate my store with his company. There is NO EXCUSE for unethical dealer conduct. We have a standing invitation with our reps to move excess inventory to smaller Ty accounts. I wish the greedy secondary market people would leave me alone. I will
ever sell in large quantities to them and I'm tired of being called ugly names by these people. I love Ty Warner, Ty products, and cherish this opportunity in my little store. I jokingly say that in Heaven, it will be God, then Jesus, and then Ty...yep...he beat out Mother Theresa. I wish all the collectors would just be patient. We, the dealers will get the merchandise in time. Be patient. DON'T pay ridiculous prices to secondary people.
- i hope that beanies stay hot forever
- I dislike the fact that Ty drops good shops and keeps the bad ones. I thought Ty cared about children, they must have just been talking a lot of hot air!
- I THINK MOST SECOND DEALERS ARE GREEDY AND ONLT WANT THE MONEY (I THOUGHT THIS WAS A KID TOY)
- I wish Ty would crack down on account holding stores that are charging very high prices and the stores that require you to buy over two current beanies to be able to buy a current bear. I would be happy to police this problem in my area, If I just knew where and how to turn these stores in. If you can help me:wmnstacy@gte.net
- I love bb's!!!!!!!!
- I dislike going to stores & there never in
- I wish there wasn't so much negativity surrounding secondary market pricing. Supply and demand set prices!
- Weenie should not have been retired!!!
- The greediness is too much for me, I am going to talk my children into another "collection" hobby.
- I don't think it will last too much longer.
- I think people are going crazy over these little things. I mean they're cute and everything but who really wants to pay like 300 for a little stuffed animal. it's outragous
- I'm so happy that Beanies are in my life!
- Some people are just too serious, and ruin the entire concept of a children's toy. I like the hunt for Beanies, but the prices are often beyond control. Prediction that a bear will be included in the next retirement (there were none in May). I suspect Valentino, Curly, Princess or Erin to be retired. Final thoughts, Beanies are great gifts and collectin them is great if you're able to look beyond the money principle. Tsk tsk on the investors...
- You forgot to add the 14 new beanie babies on your list.
- You forgot to add the 14 new beanie babies to your list. I like Whisper!
- It's great fun and enjoyment for lots of people, young and old! That in itself make the phenomenon unique. In order to continue, I expect TY will continue to maintain strict oversight , its high standard of quality and sweet, appealing designs. SC
- I LOVE MY BEAINES!!!!!!!!
- I began collecting beanies in May 97 after I bought Garcia for $25 for my newborn daughter. This has grown into a great collection for her and my mom who also now collects with me. I have a great idea for a new bear for Ty or the BBOC. How do I get in touch with someone to tell my idea?
- i love bb
- secondary dealers buy ing all the new realeases,
- MY GRIPE IS RETAILERS THAT ACT PUT OUT BECAUSE YOU BOTHER THEM FOR BEANIE INFO OR MAKE THEM WORK FOR THE SALE
- I like beanies
- Beanies Rock!
- enjoy them as you buy them. trade your doubles for the ones you can not afford to buy and enjoy. life is too short.
- not being able to find the new beanies. they sell out in the stories too fast but the secondary sellers always seem to have them at a much higher price.
- I wish there was a way to find them for a reasonable price and the secondary market makes them unreachable for most everyday ppl. thanks i love the site
- i don't like it when authorized dealers sell them for more than 6.00 they are supposed to be for children to collect...how can they when the prices are so high. When authorized dealers keep beanies for friends instead of selling them in the store.
- I love the thrill of collecting them.
- Beanie babies have been a lot of fun to collect. However I believe it has gotten more difficult to aquire new ones. Most stores will not allow you to pre-pay for a beanie or reserve a beanie. This makes it very difficult for the average working person who doesn't have time to stand in lines for hours waiting for a store to open or be at the stores when the shipments arrive. It would be nice if people could catalog order from the new ty store at chicago's airport. Just make it fair, that's all
- There is too many dealers saving beanies for people and not giving those who have to work a chance to find some of the ones hard to fine
- If the fad suddenly stops, a lot of people are going to be stuck with a lot of worthless bean bag toys.
- Ty should not announce so far in advance the new beanies. Still did not receive my Clubby and I sent for it immediately.
- I think beenie babies are cute, but they are very over priced
- bb shoppers dont understand what a strain ty puts on them. they will send back order stock to them after everyone in their market has the ones they get. thats dirty business and isnt right.they need to retire some that are sitting on the shelves.
- Beanies most of all are for the kids, when you purchase them for resell you take away from those that they are meant for!
- I can't stand the fact that the new beanies are everywhere in the secondary market for twenty and thirty dollars, yet you can't find them in the hallmark or zainy brainy stores where they are five to seven dollars!
- While I love Beanie Babies, I dislike some of the selfish and greedy attitudes I've seen amongst both buyers and sellers of Beanie Babies. This is supposed to be fun. People need to remember that. No predictions to make, but I would love to seem more Beanie Babies designed in the Fish/Aquatic area. Those are the ones that got me started collecting to begin with.
- Retire Glory
- I've met a lot of wonderful people collecting beanie babies!!
- i think ty attics are gonna be the next thing to skyrocket i am more hooked on them now i am so hooked i have spendt my whole vacations all summer looking for old retired ty attic
- I'm planning on getting Cluby
- Stinky is going to retire
- Beanie Babies are addictive!!!!
- I just realized recently that I have beanie babies. I have just received them as gifts through the years and now I have 2 bears from 1993 and i'm not really sure which bear it is?
- I got suckered in ONCE for the high price I paid...no more! I learned my lesson FAST! Now my Husband would like me to get rid of them! HELP!!!
- Overall, I think Beanie Baby collecting is a very fun hobby. Because BB's are so hot on the market right now, I look for their demand to drop over the next year. But I'll still continue to collect, as I'm sure many people will! I also think the newest Beanies are very overpriced... the May '98 newbies were selling for $5.99 as soon as they were released. The least expensive newbie I have gotten is KuKu, whom I paid $12 for.
- most beanies cost too much
- i want them to make a selena bear, kinda like the princess dianna bear!
- The Ty dealers are charging almost as much as the secondary market! My children are loosing out in this phenomenon. Thank You
- The new beanie babies shouldn't be sold for more than $7.00
- I hate the prices of them they are way too high it is rediculas how expensive they are. They stink they are just a piece of cloth with beans inside of it anyone can make them even me and I have major disabilities. My name is Goerge Willson and I Strongly recomend that by the year 2000 all beanies should DIE!!!!!!!! DENNIS......
- I think the bears are increasing in value rapidly.
- You should update your survey more often. The new-released beanines have already been out for 2 months and they are still not a part of the survey. The survey was fun and interesting, but not enough beanie info was included.
- new beanies should be more available
- beanie babies are fun
- I think Ty shouldn't sell Beanies over $5.00
- make more lambs, and a hummingbird please
- I am very anti-secondary market--It has dissappointed my young daughter very often with its high prices!! :(
- i dislike the high prices....it is meant to be a fun thing and kids my age should be able to buy them...not have to save for years just to get one!!!
- I hate how some people who get beanies from TY make wait in lines to get them or make you come back the next to take a number to get one. I think they should put them out and whenever they get them just let it be first come first serve.
- I would like to see the first lines repeated in the UK to allow me to complete my collection
- I love beanie babies I think every one should have some
- I TOTALLY think That beanies are going for to much money not many people are that obsessed with them that they are going to Buy them For over 90 dollars any more. It is so rediculas that you are selling them for more than about 14 dollars thats really ALL they are worth! And what about the less fortunate people they cant really buy anythings these days for their chidren and some cant afford to even eat! So I would really recomend lowering the prices I Know I would buy more if the price was less! An
why did you make the ghost and the snowman now those I think are really stupid they dont even go with the rest of them so in the future I would make animals not stupid things like ghosys and snowmen!!!!!!!!! Now I really want you to think about this Things these days people will do just for the money...
- It is amazing how brand new releases just ARE NOT available at all ...at any primary retailer... Are the owners selling them out the back door to secondary vendors or what?
- I would like to know how much the colored teddy bears go for and how is it possible to purchase one.
- Beanie Babies are spossed to be an ending fad! So I warn collecters. That soon all your beanies might be worthless!!
- I like the affordability of a great product, but hate the scarcity of some items. I collect for my neice, and keep a few bears or others that sit up, I expecially like the holiday ones.
- I HATE IT THAT THE 2ND MARKET HAS NEW BEANIES AT HIGH PRICES MONTHS BEFORE THE AUTHORIZED DEALERS HAVE THEM AT THE NORMAL PRICES
- I NEED GARCIA VERY BADLY! E-MAIL ANGEL44100@AOL.COM IF YOU HAVE HIM FOR SALE OR TRADE, I HAVE MANY AVAILABLE FOR TRADE OR SALE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- The more they make the curer and more realistic theyget. It's really fun collecting them.
- These are simply childrens toys, and the more people that remember that the better!!!
- i dont like the fact that retailers are getting away with selling a beanie for 150.00 when they get them from ty for 2.50 or so
- I think it is unfair to be selling them for so much, we kids can't afford them!
- With the China market like it is, this will effect the US market therefore having a beanie crash. Three months.
- I'd like to add that Norstroms is wonderful because they sell retireds currents and new, all for 5.99. Me and My mom are going there TOMORROW!!!
- Around here secondary market prices are 5-6dollars a beanie baby. I think more stores should sell them! Thanks for putting out this survey!!!
- I think that the retailers or people who have "connections" are not giving the little guy a fair chance. For example: my sister lives in South Carolina with two children; the woman across the street from them recently got all but I think two of the newly released beanies and it was all because she knows the owner of a small retail store. When my sister went to the store right after talking to her neighbor the owner told her "they were all out". My sister didn't even have a chance - just like Prince
s, Erin and now Glory - the retailers and the secondary market vendors are stashing these little guys for themselves to make a buck! and not letting the little guy have a shot at them. But like the saying goes "it's not what you know, but who you know" - BB collector from Library PA
- Enjoy the chase but think new one should come out closer to the time they ar announced.
- I dont like how retailers are saying that you have to buy a certain amount of money of products from teir store to get a Beanie Baby.
- i am looking for a 5 tp 10 dollar valentino the baer
- I LOve Beanies -J.B.
- Secondary market allows collectors who have to work to have an opportunity to get hard to find bb's as they usually are sold out by the time work lets out.
- I get tired of stores keeping the beanies and sell them to there so called good customers!! I spend just as much money there as anyone else does!!
-
- Retailers are "hoarding" new Beanies and selling them on the secondary market. I am not interested in making them rich just to buy a new Beanie...
- The shops here are charging $20 for the new ones
- lack of control at retailers
- I had a secondary market "salesman" tell me once, "Its terrible what they(TY) are doing to us (buyers). This guy had dozens of boxes of Beanies and Teenie Beanies. Many of the Beanies were in the Ty bags. He ordered them from Ty and was selling them at a flea market for the second market price list he got off the internet. I believe Ty sells alot of beanies to dealers who immediatly sell them on the secondary market, not to their regular customers.
- I am an "ex" beanie addict. At the height of my obsession I had some 95 or so. I sold all but a dozen or 15 of them for triple what I originally paid for all of mine. I try to stay away but occasionally the mania seeps in again. I think it's gotten worse even since I gave it up and I hate to see hordes of beanies languishing on NYC store shelves . . . but it was nice while it lasted!!!
- I think it's awful that Hallmark stores are selling Beanies for up to $50.00
- We need a ferret beanie baby!!!
- I just enjoy collecting them for my 21/2 year old daughter - she enjoys carring them around and the older she gets the more she enjoys them. I started collecting them simply because they are the collectable of her age! I have to admit I do like them too :-)
- I hope the beanie babie craze keeps going. I really enjoy the hunt for them. I don't like the over a thousand prices though.
- i think it would be super COOL to have a beanie babye hawk named Hunter!!!
- I think Ty needs to watch there retailers closer for price gouging!
- I am very concerned about retailers attitudes.Their greed keeps them on the Ty mailing list, but their service to customers is deplorable. I am very aware that some shop owners in our area work with secondary first , and then after they have made their extra income they put the product out to the customer. I know that Ty can not regulate closely, but I look for the retailer to cause the demise of the product known as BEANIE BABIES.
- retail stores should get more new ones and harder to get ones more frequently
- The Beanie Baby is a great idea. Mr.Warner came up with a excellent idea
- i think that stores that sell bb`s for more than the normal price (even if it is a princess, erin, ect.....) should be dropped. bb`s were made for kids who a few dollars to spend, not for adults who have a few hundred dollars to spend.stores that charge to much wouldnt if they knew noone would pay that much.
- EricGrantP@aol.com-Well I think the craze is going up & up I have Crunch to Seamore to Orange Digger to Trap All Mint with both tags & also I am a good Beanie seller "On Secondary Market!" I am only 11 & sell at Beanie Shows with parents so I can get Money & get some more beanies I want I really need a Chops & Tusk MINT CONDITION I also think there need to be a retirement!
- My local Hallmark store has taken to having a store policy of $30 in-store purchase before they'll even let you buy a new Beanie....I think it is so ridiculous, I realize they are a Ty distributor, but still....
- beanies have given me the opportunity to share a common interset with my children, neices, nephews and the children I babysit. We enjoy our beanie adventures as well as the quality time we share on our way to the next stop in our hunt for elusive b.b's. The kids have even made up their own stories about different ones traveling to alaska in ballons and floating to tropical islands on iceburgs. The only thing that bothers me is the greedy adults who are selling to secendary markets instead of selling
retail, and the people who will grab a b.b out of a childs hand. I love them too, but the kids should get them first.
- People have gotten WAY too greedy/out of control - some stores have to limit the # of people they let in at a time and post police officers. How ridiulous is that?!
- I dislike adults buying beanies and reselling them for tons of money. Beanie babies were mostly made for children and no child is going to have 200$ in their pocket to buy a Garcia bear they don't have to complete their collection and they have been collecting them for more years than most stupied adults and gay men.
-
no
- BEANIES ARE BETTER THAN TRIBBLES!
- I think that Authorized TY dealers should make them available to general public for 10.00 or less. But they don't.
- I am trying to complete my set of the Oct. 1997retireds. I still need Tank, seamore, Bessie, and i would like an extra Ally.
- If they don't end up being worth alot of money, I still have some cute beanies to give to my childen.
- i like everything i dislike nothing im pretty convincing
- no
- We need Ty to produce insects. Some retailers make it difficult to purchase bears as they tend to higher the cost on these. Tag protectors and additional beanie supplies are a little expensive.
- i think that the craze has gone overboard...i admit that i have participated in those "get a Princess for $10" mad rushes, but i don't think it should be such a contest to get beanies. i also can't understand why i look at retired beanies and valuable bears and practically start drooling. i feel like i'm staring at a million dollar prize. i love collecting, but i think this business is too overwhelming and involves too much greed and disappointment. it's very hard not to be sucked in!
- I think Wise will need to be retired next because it is dated and because of the Wise Owl trademark on the wise potato chips owl
- I hope they make a Mother Teresa Beanie Baby.
- beanies are for children...
- I do not like the greed and selfishness that comes out in so called civilized people over stuffed animals
- Don't Like the Greediness
- on the ques about next retiring? GEE half of those ARENT ALREADY RETIRED get with it
- I work 40+ hours a week and I do not have time to search for the great deal on the hard to get beanies. By the time I get to the store there are either no new beanies ie. Peace, Princess, Glory, Erin, etc. available. The news ones are especially hard to find. I guess I will have to start paying an arm and a leg and purchase those ones off the internet.
- Beanies Are the best,Tiffani
- WISE IS RETIRING NEXT... I'M NOT KIDDING!
- seaweed will retire
- i think beanies will be around for a long time!:p
- I have an 8 yr. old daughter that is so impressed with everyone she gets that it is very satisfying to know she will take exceptional care of each and every one!!!!!!!!!
- I think they should create more types of dogs.
- I think there should be an Army bear. It would be camoflagued and it would have it's birthday on Veterians day. It would be an instant sell out.
- I wish people werent so greedy
- BEANIES RULE!!!!!!!
- Thank goodness for retailers who recognize that there are children who save their allowances to purchase beanies and therefore sell them at the original recommended price in the $5 range. If secondary dealers are making huge profits, why shouldn't TY charge more? It frustrates me that my children cannot purchase a bear for under $20 in most cases. We will continue to collect Beanies, but only from those dealers who sell them for a fair price.
- I actually apriciate dealers because they help keep Beanie Babies a top seller. If it wasn't for them there would be no Beanie Babies.
- I get angry sometimes at certain retailers that I know received a shipment (straight from the UPS driver's mouth!!!) and they NEVER (even days after) hit the shelves. I know certain one's "back-door" them.
- TY should not sell beanie babies to a store whic will mark up its price more than 100%. I've seen stores selling Gobbles for $50.00! He isn't even retired! I have neighbors who are collecting beanies and are very addicted- they can't buy lots of beanies for the price that almost every store is selling it at $6.99! It used to be only $4.99! 2 dollars more! Store owners pay about $1.50 per beanie and they are supposed to mark it up 100% to $5.00 but now they are making it up about 150-200 %!!
- I love beanie babies
- I don't collect a specific type of beanie babies- I like love them all!!!!
- I hate all of you that try to scam children and others by selling at outragous prices, like "I shop at home"
- It really makes me mad that everyone is asking so much for the new releases. The only worse thing is that in the guestbook on Ty's site people are blatantly asking for outrageous prices for beanies.
- How some of the beanies that are not retired are way to expensive. Like some of the new beanies range from $30 to $ 200 dollars. I also hate how some of the beanie retailers are hateful to you when they know that people are crazy about them.
- I just collect what I like at the time of finding it - but I admit I do treasure my Bones the dog with Congo tush tag
- I wish Halmark stores would recieve more Beanies than they do. I do think the secondary market increases the values, but I know for a fact, they charge way to much when they only pay what halmark sells them for. I love beanies, but they are hard to find. In Tampa, Fl, the cheepest I can buy Velvet for is around $35.00, that's crazy!!!!
- Dislike the "games" retailers play with the Beanie bears! Either they hike up the price, have drawings or worse yet, "backdoor" them. I know a retailer who has received two shipments of Princess and Erin and never offered them for sale; yet, the employees say they are no longer in the store!
- Would like an e-mail address for TY on the net
- I don't like one person buying all of them at one time and not leaving any for the rest of us.
- I love Beanies
- I love beanie babies so do all my friends.
- make getting the bears easier, Glory is impossible
- Idea: A Black cocker spaniel named Brittiany
- I totally dislike the dealers on the secondary market that take advantage of children. I was at the beanie babie day at shea stadium and there were so many dealer there hawking kid for there beanies offering them five to ten dollars cash for their cards knowing that they had a value of fifty to one hunrede fifty dollars. I know of one child that sold his card for five dollars when his aunt went to get him a soda she was very upset at the way the young child was swayed into thinking that five dollars wa
a great deal. I have also waited on line with my daughter to buy the new releases a noodle kidoodle only to find that they sold out becauese of the dealer that brought van loads of people including children to stand on line for them , when they make their purchace and walk into the parking lot the dealers pay them for their time and take the beanies . their are many kid from this town that didn't even have a chance to purchase the beanies because of these grungy looking and slimy actions of these rude dea
ers. this has been a fun sport so to speak but this type of creepy dealing does not sit well with many parents.
- My children used to purchase BBs for themselves or they would receive them as a reward for a job well done. They have a variety of accessories to increase their playing enjoyment. The unfortunate thing about this phenomenon is that we have had some very negative experiences attempting to purchase BBs for selves or for gifts.
- they are cool and awsome!
- dislike people who get violent about it
- my biggest problem with the beanie's is the way they hold the bears. i know it is a great marketing strategy, but how do you explain to a 7 year old that he can't have Erin, or Glory because there over a $100.00? i have been adament about waiting to find them for a decent price. i can say that i have'nt paid more than 8.00 for my bears. hang in and wait and you'll find them resonably.
- I wish secondary would relize its hard just to get the new beanies without having to go to them and pay double for it!!!!
- I LOVE BEANIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I think that they should make a Beanie Baby called Buzz the Mosquito
- I love BBs My friends and I even take them swimming! (I can tell you one thing they're not just surface washable!)
- I think Bruno will retire soon because he seems to be very unpopular.
- my hopes for the beanie market is that all just simply enjoy the chase and the collectibles themselves. quit worrying how much money you'll eventually make, because that may not happen. if everyone just enjoyed their beanies and never worried about resale the greed may hopefully disappear.
- I wish they would make different kinds of horses
- Just keep them coming and we will keep smiling!!!!
- I love KuKu, She is addorable She is my favorite but I can not find her.
- I DISLIKE THE PEOPLE MAKING THE FAKE BEANIE BABIES. I LOVE THE PRICE OF THEM, IT MAKES IT EASY FOR SOMEONE LIKE MYSELF, TO BECOME A COLLECTOR AND TO IT IS SOMETHING I ENJOY COLLECTING. I WILL PASS THEM ON TO THE GENERATION TO COME AND HOPEFULLY BEANIE BABIES WILL BE THERE FOR THEM TO ENJOY AND CONTINUE THE COLLECTING.
- I love the beanie babies! I hope to collect alot more!!
- The internet is a great tool to keep collectors "in touch" so they can keep from being cheated by the "fast buck". My best advice to colleting anything...beanies, cars, dolls is to read, read and read some more on the "thing" you are pouring your heart and soul into. Knowledge is a powerful weapon!!! ENJOY...Calif Renie
- TY should make Midnight the Black Lab & Warts the Toad
- is Spike the rhino's right eye supposed to be smaller than his left, or am I just looking at it wrong?
- Retailers should be watched as some are charging outrageous prices.
- This is crazy, my parents are worse than I am!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I think ty shoul retire princess (I myself have 2)
- I collect them for my grandchildren
- Ty needs more retailers out there who will stick with a price that is affordable to any one who wants a beanie baby. this is what he promised when this began & look at how Glory and Fortune came out. Not to mention Princess and Erin.
- It is one of the most enjoyable collections that I have.
- no
- I think Peace , Erin, and Princess should be easier to get ie. more plentiful stock. If you're not at the store when the receive their shipment, forget about it. Who has time to run to the store every time they get a shipment? Some of us have lives but we still like Beanies!
- Ty should not introduce new beanies until they are prepared to ship to all authorized dealers enough for the demand.
- Stores not knowing when to expct deliveries. Ty must be very unorganized in their delivery department. They need better control over deliveries and backorders.
- the excitement of finding beanies at stores
- They should make the new ones easierto find. They should not let stores sell them for over than 6.oo. It's ridicolous to sell currents for 25.00!!! You should not be allowed to buy more than ona of a kind to people. They should not save or give special atttention to those who buy a lot of beanies. it is not fair to the kids or people who collect them for fun@!!!!!!!
- Retailers should not make you purchase other high dollar items, ones you don't even get to choose, in order to purchase a beanie at regular price.
- I like the fact that you can invest as much or as little as you want or can. You can invest "piece meal". There is certainly the thrill of the chase. I really got into this for my future grandchildren, but then my one daughter started noticing how carefully I was looking over each one and checking the tags.
- there will be an early all bear retirement, which will take out almost every bear that is current
- More and more authorized dealers are selling to secondary market or friends and family. I know this because at a local antique mall, a 14 yr old kid was stocking his case with Glory, Fortune, and other new releases. I asked him where on earth he found so many of them (no stores in KC area will admit to ever receiving the bears, Believe me I call the all regularly). He said there are several shops that sell to him direct. This is what will destroy the beanie boom. When the only source for a Glory b
ar is an antique mall for a price of $165.00, the end is near. The children particularly are excluded. Ty should not introduce a new release until it can ship in quantities significant to eliminate this problem.
- All outlets should get new Beanies about th same time. Mine answers calls all day long & still haven't gotten any new ones. Bonnie's Hallmark Fort Pierce Fl 34982
- I dislike stores selling BB for 10 times their value.
- I hate it when people make and sell counterfits!
- Wouldn't it be great if TY had a mailorder catalog!
- I love beanie babies so much I just started a new job and have gotten almost everyone in the office so involved some even keep beanies on their computers and/or desks.
- I have never bought a Beanie for over 5.95, I feel that this has gone to far and now I will sell all my Beanies except for a few given as gifts to me or give them to charity.
- People, who do you think will buy you're Beanies if/when you sell them? It's called the secondary market! We only buy from collectors that get stuck with extras they had to buy to get something they wanted. At shows who do you think you're buying from?
- Just like the Cabbage Patch Doll, Tickle me Elmo, Tanagotchi...ect..this Beanie Babie madness will soon pass. Take a look at past History when it comes to supply and demand. The store owners that treet their customers rude and unfair will lose regular business from those same people. People that are being unkind to their friends over this child toy, will lose friends. The hurt will stay. But in the same point - You can make several friends while Beanie hunting if you keep the right attude. Please remem
er the fun is all in the hunt...not the kill.
- I think the Beanie Baby phenomenon is dying down very much. But I still collect them. I got Stretch the ostrich the other day.
- I think people should understand that the secondary market is the force behind the collectibility end of beanie babies. With a few exceptions of couse.
- I'll admit I've grabbed BEANIES out of little childrens hands...but my addiction to this phenomenon is uncontrollable. When I suggested to my wife that we name our first daughter BEANETTE she just laughed. What she doesn't know is that I have spent most of our retirement investing in beanies. Beanies have given my life a purpose beyond myself, my family, and my religion...in fact, it IS MY RELIGION. I am a disciple of TY. The company lives in all of us...the little voices in my head have told me s
.
- like to see a crack down on secondary dealers
- I get annoyed by all the people who are paying thousands of dollars for a single Beanie Baby and then complaining about the prices. I have well
